I live down the street from my gym so i usually just change my shirt/shorts so Im not walking out all sweaty and shower at home. I have been to some gyms where the showers are pretty gross (with mold on the walls/tiles and ceiling) and I see guys walking barefoot in the locker room/shower. I understand if you workout before you go to work in the am then yeah, but honestly most guys just walk in and walk out of the gym without going into the locker room.

    Depends on where I go...

My main gym is right down the block from me so I always shower at home
and the other is in a neighboring city when I travel for work so I have no choice but to shower there

After my workouts if I have time I hit the jacuzzi - then use the showers. Hard water though - not soft like at home (listen to me complain!)

I belong to Golds. The showers are fine. I relax in the teeny tiny sauna after working out, so I need the showers after that. I do where shower shoes to protect my feet.

I shower just about all the time. My gym has private stalls, and I wear shower shoes.

it depends on my schedule, but I have no problem showering at the gym. A lot of people do at my gym. It might also be the fact that it is a predominantly a gay gym.

My gym has a great locker and shower facility. Very clean, even in the steam room, sauna, showers and even by the urinals and toilets. They have 5 people assigned to it 24/7 cleaning and restocking towels, TP, soap and cleaning. I do wear shower shoes but alot of people don't and there are alot of parents with kids in there. It IS clean. I shower there every time I work out...which is usually 6x a week.

terra22 saidsadly my gym contains a lot of people who shower...too bad they are all beyond 80 and pudgy =(

And why would the age of the others showering be of concern to you?

I hit my gym on the way home and live right around the corner so no need to shower there. If I'm far away from home and can see the place is clean and feel comfortable with it I will.

I used to have no problem taking a shower w/ my team or my platoon- but at the gym, around strangers, I won't. I'm usually go home after anyways, so no point in taking a shower there when I can take a long bath at home...

I take one most every time I finish up working out...its great to have a warm shower after tearing myself up. The stalls are individual with curtains and the water is warmer for longer unlike my apartment :/

I do when I am not going home afterwards. I'm not shy about being naked or anything.

I am also more likely to shower if there is a sauna at the gym or jacuzzi. I really like those things after I work out. I have to say though I don't like cruisy gym saunas. I also don't like co-ed saunas or jacuzzi where you have to wear a swimsuit or something .. I don't see the point. Oh, the showers and stuff need to be clean too .. lol

Hmmm, not so much. The showers at my gym are pretty grungy, but they are always busy with people showering so I guess they're not that bad for some.

I have a shower facility at work, and since I cycle from my gym to my work, it makes more sense to shower there.

Of course I shower at the gym, and bring my own towel too. I work out at lunch and am not about to return to the office funky.

Absolutely I shower. I hate putting on clean clothes when I'm all sweaty. I don't do shower flip-flops, though I probably should; I got used to being okay with a dorm shower so I don't think my gym can come anywhere close to that in terms of the disgusting factor.

I do, however, wish I didn't have to bring my own towel. It would be nice if there were fresh towels always at my beck and call. I like to be spoiled.

    yep a shower indeed

As for a jacuzzi that would be a big no no. a mate of mine services jacuzzis and he showed me images of all the fat, oil, flulff and pubes that gets caught in the filter by the end of the week and it was something like 30lbs average gunk a week, and it looked disgusting

I almost always shower at the gym. I live probably 15 minutes away from my gym, so I would have to leave and go straight home all nasty if I didnt. icon_confused.gif

I love the steamroom shave, so I always shower there. I wish, as terra pointed out, that more guys UNDER 80 would shower to just improve the experience a little, but that's not why I shower there. It also greatly decreases my water and gas bills.
