  I thought this was very a sad video.....
  
  A male cat in Turkey's Kizilsaray district of Antalya, so in love with his female, tries to resuscitate her repeatedly but unsuccessfully after she is hit by a car. He lies with her for two hours, not letting anyone near, until a vet finally arrives to take the body.

  OK, I do know that cats feel grief, having been the owner of (er, actually, my mother was the owner of) hundreds of cats. Particularly mother cats that lose kittens.
  
  So this tomcat was experiencing confusion when confronted with the corpse, but I think claiming that he's massaging to resuscitate is a HUGE reach on the video poster's part.
  
  He's showing nursing (the massaging motion) and mating (the neck biting and hunched mounting with kicking back legs) behaviors. Yes, he's confused, and a little aroused.
  
  He will not grieve until he's been separated from his companion (who is likely a relative, possibly his mother) for awhile. In the video he is not yet aware of the separation.

  As sad as it looks it is also quite touching! my mother once had a cat who lasted 9 years until the pussycat died of kidney failure! I saw how "Merry" fought for her life even in such pain.It got to a point where it broke my heart to see her get up like a zombie out of a corner and walk to eat and drink some water, with literally not an once of strength left in her. Gosh I am getting quite emotional typing this! it is too painful to remember because if it wasn't for Merry's constant meowing I wouldn't be alive today, she saved my life by warning me there was a of burglar breaking in the house. Anyway since my mother couldn't take it seeing her suffer with much resistance on my part we put her to sleep! now I have pussycat who is treated like royalty and very much care for. Pets do become like your own children, you know! so when you see one sobbing like the cat in this video you can't help it feeling their pain also.

  i don't think i'm going to watch this. i appreciate the "empathy" in posting it; however, i can't understand why someone would go this particular route to prove the point that animals have feelings.

  this made me think of the Lion King when Mufasa was practically thrown into the stampede and Simba kept trying to get his dad up but he wouldnt budge. (tear) im not an animal person at all [besides marine life] so this didnt do much for me. the thought of lion king and this possible happening to me was a downtrodden within itself.

  Have you seen the "Freeway Hero Dog" video? Now THAT almost made me cry. A dog is hit by a few cars on a freeway in Chile and another dog drags the body of its friend across the busy highway. I'm getting choked up thinking about it

  I know it sounds crazy, but for people who are wondering why this was posted or even filmed make me wonder if they believe in love.
  
  Things like this are very special, knowing that love can exist between animals with very non-complex brains makes me feel like love is really meant to be there for other reasons than reproduction.
