blood sugar and weights

One of the problems I've had with lifting weights has always been with eating before/after. When I do cardio, I can spend an hour on the elliptical machine or whatever with no problem as long as I have water with me.

When I lift weights, after a few exercises my hands tremble, I feel nauseated, etc-- consistent with low blood sugar. And I do feel better if I get a piece of candy or something. I usually eat an apple or banana on the walk home to keep me from getting dizzy.

So my question: Do other people have this problem? What do you eat before you lift weights (please see my photos-- I'm by no means a high-performance power lifter, I'm just starting out with the basics!)? How long before you work out do you eat this snack/meal?

Also related to food -- I am trying to eat more healthy and damn I'm hungry all the time now! What gives?!

My best friend has that condition. Now he eats like a pig before and after each workout, and drinks water between sets.
Definitely see a doctor before doing anything else, though. The last thing you want is a home remedy fucking you up.
