Frankly I am hoping inflation goes thru the roof because I have some money I want to live off of and the banks are paying no interest and its an outrageous situation. In the early 80's u could get 8% off your money now u get 1%.The added bonus is the Democrats will definitely be crushed in the November 2010 elections!

Today, I checked the mail and got my gas bill. So I went straight to my computer to pay the bill and while I was there, I decided to check on my stocks, since yesterday a friend of mine told me that the stock market was killing him, but I was doing okay.

Lo and behold I checked my stocks just at the moment when the glitch occurred and I was bugging out big time!! I lost about 25% in value instantly, but about 70% of my losses were recovered within 20 minutes.

But it does make me wonder if this was some kind of test of market confidence.

    Ugh.

If "inflation goes thru the roof", yes your savings will probably earn more. But everything will COST more, so that would offset the increased interest your bank is paying.

    Keep voting Republican.

Here in Canadia you could earn 18% off of savings in the early 80s. If you want a high return on a savings account open one in Australia.... 6% right now.
