So I finally decided to get a tattoo...I finally got the balls to do it. You would think after an accidental gunshot wound at 13 that I could just go ahead and do it. But wanted show a picture of what I am having done. It will be saucer size right between my shoulder blades. Thoughts, comments and opinions are welcome..

It sounds as though you have thought it through and picked an image that you will be proud of. Good for you for not doing it the same way I did.

Don't get me wrong.... I like my tattoo but it is hard to keep a tough guy image with a cartoon character on your ass. The tattoo does have a special meaning to me....although it was more special at 3am after drinking all night. It was the coolest thing ever!

Congrtats to you. Take a some photos. It looks great.

I JUST had my first tattoo done yesterday (already posted a pic and waiting for it to get approved) I love tattoos. They're sexy, and a great way to express yourself.

As a professional artist, the advice MMTM gave you is great. Talk to your tattoo artist about switching up some elements in the image. It'll make it way more unique, and enjoyable. Dragons are a very popular tattoo subject.. so try to find a way to personalize it, and spice up your image. If you've got a good tattoo artist.. he should be more than able to throw a few suggestions at you.

    Good luck! Post pictures!! XD

EDIT: My tattoo pic just got approved if you wanna check it out! Shameless plug, I know. But I'm too damn excited!)

Looks good. I believe the bold colors are the ones that take the longest to do and will probably fade. Other than that....any place would look good, as long as it is SIZED properly! Don't get a huge one like my little Air Force budd got on his bicep. When I asked why it was so big, he said "I plan to workout an build biceps and I want it to look ok then."
I asked him if he'd never written on a rubber band, and then stretched it...same thing was gonna happen with his tatt! LOL

BTW: If I was to get one, it'd be upside down between my shoulder blades Like this:
    let_go_of_my_ears_tshirt-p23583882540143
and it says "Let go of my ears, I know what I am doing!"

Careful of the red ink, many people have horrible alergic reactions to that in particular. Some reason it's common for people to develop keloid scars from the red ink, even from people who normally do not keloid at all. My friend Leigh was filling in parts of his sleave with some red embelishements, and they all blew up huge into nasty keloids that he had to have removed with a lazer.

Noooo!!! Don't do it! Don't do it!

I can't possibly be the only person on here that thinks tattoos are disgusting and make you look cheap/trashy/etc.. If you absolutely must get one... for some odd reason... try a temporary tattoo first.... or just stick to those. You don't have to commit to them.

There are also better ways to 'express yourself-' Take a tap class, learn to paint... but please don't tarnish your skin.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidFor someone from LA you sure have a closed minded overly opinionated approach.

There are 3+ million people in Los Angeles, and if prop. 8 has thought us anything it is that ~57% of the residents in Los Angeles have a 'closed mind.' icon_smile.gif

    There's always one. icon_rolleyes.gif

I agree with the earlier comment about symmetry. For me, if it looks too perfect I imagine the guy walked into a parlor and pointed at the wall. I like a tat the artist had to freehand after listening to the person's description about what it should entail. But that's me. I love dragons and have one on my left arm. And I bet yours will look great!

There is definitely something beautiful about a person with no tattoos. Plain, unaltered skin is wonderful. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of not liking tattoos. But there's no need to be saying those of us with tattoos are trashy..

That would be like me suggesting you get a giant dick tattooed on your forehead.. Could it be accurate? Yeah.. but it's not needed. icon_razz.gif

Get something less ostentatious...they tend to fade. Tats are cool but its forbidden for me to get one.

So long as celtic knots and red dragons mean somethin to you man. Looks nice though. Be sure you get an AWESOME artist though; pay whatever it takes, those dragons have a lot of detail.

I saw a guy the other day who really wanted to show his tramp stamp. He was wearing sweats and a baggy shirt. No underwear or jock. He was doing pushups with his trainer and his pants were falling down and his shirt was lifted up. He had an arrow pointed down to the crack of his ass. Gives new meaning to "Tramp Stamp"

I personally don't like tatts at all. I don't even like to date guys with them. (one small one is ok)

Thats soooo Classy NOT! Like I said Tats can be nice but most people go overboard. If I could get a tat It would be like this...

From the Book of Ruth: Your People Shall be My People. You G-d Shall be my G-d

האנשים שלך יהיה לאנשים שלי אלהיכם אלוהים
