Just out of curiosity, does anyone just wear compression shorts to the gym to lift?

I was thinking about it but I would feel like my bulge would be rather prevalent. Which I might be fine with if I was going to an all gay gym.

Some do at my gym, haven't looked that closely to see if there's a prominent bulge (too busy trying not to ogle their legs)

I used to wear pearl Izumi bike shorts to work out when I was in the navy, but that was more of a defiance thing against the navys policy that "cycling didn't count as exercise" Oh, and it pissed off the breeders in charge.

Yeah, why would you just wear compression shorts? That would be way too close to just wearing underwear for me.

If you got a bulge then you got a bulge so what, you are a guy, you are suppose to have a bulge there. I use to think like you about that but ........i got over it - it's there and short of taping it close to my body it shows. BTW - i do not go to a gay gym.

If I saw someone at my gym, working out in compression shorts only.. I would think it distasteful. The same if I saw someone working out in underwear, almost.

I wear compression shorts under my gym shorts. All the functionality of the compression shorts.. with all the modesty of average clothing.

I don't go to a gym, but I do wear them out in public to go walking or jogging.

There's nothing distasteful about the human anatomy, nor is wearing something that accentuates it. Form fitting clothing is perfectly fine in public.

The only reason society tries to teach us our bodies are bad is because they're insecure with their own bodies, so they push their insecurity on others to make themselves feel better. I'm comfortable in my own skin, so they can kiss my ass if they don't like me wearing form fitting clothes in public. In fact, I may wear the outfit I'm wearing in my avatar out to eat tonight, just to fuck with people's heads. But then again this is South Florida, so that kind of behavior is quite normal.

Cycling shorts can be as form fitting as compression shorts. The only difference is a guy is bent over on a bicycle, preventing you from seeing his crotch.

shhh ... dammit, Caslon, always going and ruining it.

Hey, Barley12, I think you should post pics of yourself in a pair of compression shorts. That way, we can all chime in with more educated opinions.

I would like to see a front, rear, and profile shot with a flaccid penis as well as a semi-erect and erect one. Okay? Great, thanks!

There was a dude working out at my gym in compression shorts once - sure it was hot but it didn't seem quite right. I think it looks stupid in a public setting like that. Don't get me wrong i'm no prude, it just looked funky o.O (I guess it doesn't help he was standing two feet from the mirror facing it while lifting dumbbells.. tbh i think he was checking himself out..)

That said, I wear em under my gym pants/shorts - they're great.

That was very specific. =P

I was just curious, because I saw three dudes wearing them at my gym today it was really, really hot and I think it's attractive and maybe a little distasteful, but nothing wrong with that, eh?

If there are other guys wearing them at your school gym then it won't be weird if you wear them. But most importantly, if you want to rock the compression shorts, go for it.

lots of guys can pull off wearing just compression shorts, or Cyclist shorts for their workout, and those few who do wear only their compression shorts maybe theyre trying to pick up a girl or if theyre gay a guy who knows

Many college wrestlers no longer wear a jockstrap, it's called "freeballing."

Wresting singlets are made from the same stuff as compression shorts, spandex and/or lycra.

Bicycle bib shorts look similar to wrestling singlets, but have padding in the crotch area, which tends to hide the bulge.

Twice per year there is the Rosarito to Ensenada 50 Mile Bike Ride in Baja, Mexico. I enter it every time. At one of the events, I stopped at the water stop at the top of a mountain at mile 27. There was a very cute, lean Mexican guy drinking water. I was stopped dead in my tracks when I noticed that his white cycling shorts were actually compression shorts. He must have bought the next size up because they didn't fit very tight. There was a center panel that accentuated his hanging dick, and it was roomy enough to allow his dick to bulge outward. It was about 4" limp, pointed straight down, and every detail of the shaft and head were clearly visible. I could even see the bulges on the side that his balls made. I couldn't stop looking at him. He was wildly sexy in an innocent way. Maybe not so innocent. He had to know that his anatomy was on display and was probably very proud to flaunt it in front of thousands of riders. Personally, I like to see guys dress like that if they have the body for it.

Compression shorts are underwear. You should wear them as such, ie, under clothes.

It depends on the individual garment. I'm sure a lot of compression shorts are almost identical to some jammers or tight lycra trunks. That said, it's not a given that it's appropriate either. Some have alluded to white compression shorts, those are often ill-advised for public use.

I really love the concept though. And who are you really hurting if you want to be on the edge of sex-appeal and functionality? It can be a lot of fun...
