Made my national television debut this week on the show "Sunset Daze" teaching the ladies how to pole dance!

The ladies were fun to teach, but they had been drinking wine prior to filming, they had a "massage oil" party, and they were wearing pajamas... 3 of the biggest no-no's of pole dancing!

That was much better than my television debut. I debuted on the 700 Club, when they profiled my fundamentalist father about his conversion. They had a scene of us playing Monopoly in the kitchen to show how much better his life is now that he's Christian. icon_cry.gif

That is the coolest thing I've seen on here in years.

The question remains Mako, who taught you how to do that? Were you with a group of gay men on a reality show when one of the Golden Girls came in and showed you how? icon_confused.gif

    Very cool …
...Hey, Mako how do you grip the pole hard enough to hold all your weight without getting pole burn…curious?

Hehe... this is the most common question I'm asked. Lets just say that I've never taken a gymnastics class or a dance class in my life. Pole dancing/acrobatics is self taught for me, so its trial and error, or studying other pole dancers on youtube icon_smile.gif

I use a product that golfers/tennis players use that is a gel-powder. It puts a coating of powder on your hands and prevents them from sweating. As far as gripping the pole... you would be surprised that its not as hard to grip, it just depends on the material of the pole. I have stainless poles at my studio, I find they are easiest for me to grip, but chrome poles are slippery. Brass poles are generally regarded as easiest to grip. Ultimately, a lot of the difficult moves are accomplished by sheer will and strength (and knowing how to use leveraging to squeeze the pole with your body and legs)

    1) You are obscenely hot
    2) That was great that you were teaching the Golden Girls how to wurk it.
    3) That pole seemed like it was about to fall over! Was it not attached to anything at the top?
