Red_Vespa saidMessing with your name is a shameless vanity. You have the name you were given. The days of giving movie stars screen names is over.
Likewise, you're stuck with what your parents gave you. You have a first name, and a last name. Your middle name helps to identify you a little further if necessary in Western culture, it is not your first name. Such self-obsession is really not healthy.
I'll admit it's a shameless vanity but I will have to disagree with it bordering on self-obsession. It's similar to changing up your personal style. I find it a quirk.
Thanks everyone for the imput, though.
As a personal pet peeve of mine, I do find it a bit obsessive about oneself. My ex used his middle name because his first name was his Dad's. He was extremely self-fixated.
Oh yeah, and do we all know that if you're gay somehow being Steve is not acceptable, you need to be called Steven. Phil.....helz no......it's Phillip. Sebastian is of course Sebastian......is there any straight guys named Sebastian btw?
I know guys that have made up their first names, or used their middle name, or part of their middle name, or their confirmation name. I guess if one has a name that is hard to pronounce and wants to make it easier for everyone I actually appreciate that.
