Tattoos on Upper Chest

I've noticed an alarming trend lately for guys to get really ugly tattoos, usually some sort of curly writing, going across their upper chest.

It RUINS a good body! Some tattoos can look good and enhance a physique but I just don't understand these ones, they never look remotely attractive to me.

Can anyone explain the trend? It's all a bit too 'thug life' for me.

YESSS!! i agree 100%. i have several tats, but none that would show when i am wearing a suit. i like being able to flash my ink and piercings when i want to and cover them up when needed to do so. icon_cool.gif

Even worse are the ones that extend up to the neck.
Maybe "thug" is the message they really do want to send.
But will they when they're 35?

im happy you have an opinion, but its just that, your opinion. some people might think it might add to a great body!

i suggest you don't date someone who has a tattoo there.

everyone else, please tattoo yourself however you would like!

it's all objective. if you don't like, don't look. i don't find every tat, or placement (tramp stamp) sexy, but as a whole i like em.

    "Thug Life" huh?

    tupac-thug-life-4900917.jpg

Everyone has their own reason for getting, or not getting tattoos. Just do not look at them or date them if you find it so unattractive.

I agree with you! I'm not a fan of tattoos in general (small or big), and have noted the same trend. Smothering up perfectly muscled pecs, shoulder or giving an arm-sleeve type tatt just isn't attractive and definitely ruins the sight of a physique, but to each his own, I guess.

i will have to say...to each their own. if you honestly don't like chest tats or neck tats...avoid that in your men. I will accept my man no matter where he slings his ink if any at all.
    I am partial though

Since we're in the opinion giving mood:

I agree with the OP... chest tattoos that sprawl across one's chest = Classless.

the second worst is the male tramp stamp, OR the around the belly button thing.

    Hot. Tranny. Mess.

    Yes! HAHA! More tattoo haters!!!

I would honestly prefer a guy with a chest/arm tattoo over one with a 'tramp stamp.'icon_eek.gif

A tattoo on the lower back- just above the butt-crack... Most commonly found on slutty women and on, slightly fem, gay men...

I second this opinion as well!!!

A tattoo doesn't make or break a person, in fact they tell a story. I believe everyone is entitled to express the way they view art. If you don't like them don't look at them or date someone that has one.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidI'm getting one on my upper chest under the clavicle because I want to hide a scar that was created for my prior cancer treatment. I had to have a catheter inserted under my clavicle bone that lead a tube to my jugular vein. This was an access point for me to get chemotherapy. It's very common for people to have this done who receive chemotherapy.

I'm in remission and am long done with treatment. I have a big atrocious scar that I will now hide with a tattoo.

Regardless of "my" reasons for putting one there I haven't seen one in this area on a guy that I didn't like.

The only time I don't like tattoos is if they're too flat looking or look like they were some mediocre art chosen from a number system on a large display wall in a tattoo "parlor."

Most of you up in here just sound like a bunch 'a whiny ass bunch a' bitchez, hoochieez 'n nappy headed HO's!

Well your reasoning is more understandable, of course. But IIRC, the location of the cath wouldnt mean you have to get your entire chest tatted.... which I think is what the OP meant.

I think the OP was referring to things like this:

    chest-tattoo-for-men.jpg

    chest-tattoos-for-men.jpg

    I mean... really?

Nice! I personally love tattoos like this, that go up the arm and onto one pec. I really think it enhances the physique.

For those of us less ripped than Alexsander Freitas (former bodybuilder, now Raging Stallion model), here he is before he got all ripped:

I got a cross wings tattoo on my sternum with the cross on the sternum and the wings coming up my pecs above my nipples about 2 months ago. I came across the image and showed it to my tattoo artist and he thought it was really a great design. He said the sternum area would be very painful, which it was, but he said the sternum was the perfect place for this because the cross fit really nicely there and with the wings coming on,my pecs, when I move, it looks like the wings are moving. Everyone says it is really cool where I have it and I really do like it a lot. This is the first tattoo I got with full color, but it is my 4th tattoo. I'm looking for a design now for my back.
