I just had to change my cell# that I'd had for 11years and felt sad. Also had to change a bank account that I'd had for 17years as they don't have a branch here....weird how things like that have meaning in more ways than one...whats odd is that my aunt has a listing off all my old phone numbers in her phone book.....good grief, I cant even rember my new cell number, let alone one from 35 years ago

I remember that our phone number when I was a kid started with CL, for CLearwater. I dont remember the number tho. ..and it didnt have a rotary dial, You picked up and the operator answered with "number please." She used to scare the crap outta me as a kid. I thought if I didnt say it right, she would yell at me.

I moved from Cali to Utah 5 years ago so the only number I have that's over 5 years old is my SSN. I really hated giving up my DL# and I still remember it. I haven't even bothered to memorize my new DL#.

My parents have had the same number for over 30 years. The only thing that has changed is the area code.. which changed about 2 or 3 times.

    This one made me think...

I've had my cell for 9 years...

My folks have had their house phone for 27 years...

My grandparents still give people their # in the old format...

"Our telephone is 8-4458" because the area code and the first 2 numbers were assumed.... talk about a long time ago!

    I'm really good with numbers.

I can remember my long WI drivers license number, but not my short california number.

I had a phone number that was the same forwards and backwards.

My parents moved 15 years ago and have had 3 new phone numbers with their adoption of Vonage, and then smartened up and got rid of it.

I remember my sister's phone number and best friends' phone number in australia because it has a good beat/rhyme to it.

Ahh.... numbers come and go... bad bf's stay! LOL

My mom has had the same phone number for over 40 years, keeping the same phone number in three different homes. I remember when I was a kid and we also only gave five digits when telling someone our phone number. Now you can't call your next door neighbor without using all ten numbers.

I remember that quite well. My parents had a cottage with the party line and if you had a long distance call, the operator would come on and ask for your number and would connect your call for you. It was a pain even though we only had one other person on our line because the lady used to talk nonstop and we would have to cut in and tell her to get off the phone because we needed to use it. They had this til the late 80's when the phone company upgraded. When I was little the phone number there was Orleans3970 until they gave us a regular number sometime in the early 70's.

Technically, we still have a party line in the old farm house. It's just the only one left on the party, besides the grandparents former house. My dad always refused to switch to a private line because it would cost fifty cents more a month.

Not long ago, my brother was on the grandparent's old line, talking dirt about Mom, and it turned out that she was listening in the whole time.icon_eek.gif
