DCEric saidI remember stories about when my grandparents had to carry papers to prove who they were. It was to protect themselves from a right wing government that needed a final solution to a problematic minority who didn't always speak the national language. Glad no one intends to create camps to concentrate Latinos into, because that would just be a step to far.
/sarcasm, expect the part about my family.
You are sadly misinformed. Germany under the Nazis was not a right wing government, as you say. Socialism has never been a right wing ideology. Nazisim is Non-Marxist Socialism built along nationalistic lines. Socialism has never been an idea embraced by the right. I wouldn't expect you to know, since it might spoil your little narrative, that the cry of the German socialists and communists at the time of the rise of Nazism was "brown shirts first and then red". Neither would I expect you to know that both Nazism and Facism both grew out of socialism, nor that both Hitler and Mussolini were both socalist befor they created their own brands of socalism. With a little time you may have done some reasearch and found out that Nazism as well as Facism were both ideas embraced by progressive americans and the progressive movement, at the time of their emergence and only dropped by the progressive movement after the masses were sickened by them. So could we please lay off the bull about Nazism and Facism being rightwing, and keep to the discussion at hand.I could certainly recount my fathers experiences with communism, but it serves no pourpose, although it would be more fact based than your little narrative about the right wing Nazis.
To continue to compare everything you dislike, the right, conservatives and even republicans to the Nazis and Facist and the holocaust doesn't diminish those things , but makes your point seem rather diminished.
I'm sure, you know, it is already the law that a legal alien must carry on his person art all times proof of his being in this country legally. That has been the law for about the last 70 yrs. Incidentlly, the Alien Registration Act was passed into law in 1940, under the progressive democrat president Franklin D. Roosevelt. Having a Russian father, who was a legal alien, I am very aware of the law, perhaps before your absurd analogy you should have made yourself aware ot the law as well. Might I also remind you that it was under this same progressive president that Japanese-Americans were sent to Internment Camps.
Perhaps you may want to check out the Mexican Imigration Laws laid out in Ley General de Pobalicon. Certainly much more draconian than the US and Arizona laws. But, that would actually take effort instead of just trying to create emotion based in misinformation.
Perhaps you might want to actually read the Arizona law before weighing in on it. After all the law doesn't have a 2 yr jail term for being illegal. Perhaps you might like to see that the law defines 4 types of identification that are proof of legal residency. Your little narrative doesn't even take into consideration the amount of identity theft and credit theft by Illegal aliens.
