Non-English music

    Do any of you have any favorite foreign songs or musicians? Doesn't matter if you understand other languages or not. Considering English is the largest language market, I'm curious as to what listeners like in other languages.

    Obviously Spanish has become a lot more mainstream over the years thanks to the Latin boom of the '90s. Many seem to like Italian and French musicians a lot, too.

    I'm a big fan of many artists who sing in Russian, Ukrainian, and Romanian.

    This made me think of a project one of my musician friends did... IKSCHELTASCHEL. they made a whole record in a gibberish language that sounds a bit like dutch icon_lol.gif here's a vid.

    I was watching this movie called "Nobody's Perfect" in Spanish and i heard this song and found it really beautiful. Of course, I didn't understand a word of it, so i looked up the meaning online.. its really beautiful..

    Wow! You've heard of La Oreja de Van Gogh? I'm originally from Spain and never thought this group was known outside of Spain. I think they have some fans in Mexico, but that's about it.

    lol, I don't understand; the name of the song is Valencia, but the city skyline shown around 2:30 is unmistakably Barcelona.

    As to the question, I LOVE Shakira. I also really like Belanova, Reik, Juanes, Enrique, Julieta Venegas, and Paulina Rubio (all of them sing in Spanish).
