Did anyone here see this? I saw this over the weekend and initially I wasn't really impressed, however the more I think about it, the more I actually LIKE the movie.

I was disappointed with the lack of gross-out scenes in the movie (given the subject matter, I had expected TONS of them). Though what I did like, and this was after thinking about the movie some more, was how the centipede was made to suffer... and watching it struggle to survive and rebel against its creator amid truly grim circumstances. The film did a pretty good job capturing these points.

Someone sent me the trailor for this movie on youtube and I found it VERY disturbing! I was creeped out for a couple of days after viewing it! I usually enjoy movies like this, but I have no desire to see any more of this one!

    What do you guys think?

    WARNING! VERY DISTURBING!

It's really been a long time since I've seen a really frightening, scary film ( I love horror).
The trailer kinda got me interested now...

any other good horror recommendations icon_question.gif

not necessarily splatter and gore, but films that are also scary and creepy in terms of psychology and suspense.

I really liked the movie. It was really screwed up, yet, it wasn't as gory as I was expecting.

I like horror films usually but I hated this film.

Badly directed, shot, acted and scripted, I can't think of a single thing to recommend about it. I saw it last year as part of a horror film festival.

However, the bf liked it. Go figure.

This looks incredibly dumb... I was waiting to be shocked by the disturbing images, and didn't see one.

O.K., we all knew this thread was sooner or later going to bring mention of a certain awful 80's hit. Reebie was the first human centipede.

I made my final project in 3D design class Centipede-inspired. It was the only way I could get it out of my head.

A dandelion centipede is much less scary, right?

this was surprisingly good - it had a really great humor about things and i'd go so far to say that the cinematography (as odd as it is to refer to in a film like this) was actually great at times.

    best/slowest chase scene ever

and yeah while it wasn't quite as gory as expected it was still physically painful to watch at times, i'm not usually disturbed by such but they did a good job. will never sit through it again.

I appreciate the comments, and the accompanying silliness as well. This movie could have went all-out gross or laughably stupid... however the fact that the producers decided not to focus on the gore (to my disappointment) allows the audience to really watch what is happening to the centipede (and its 3 victims)... which imo is where the true horror is.

This movie really isn't that bad... and if you're a horror fan this movie should already be on your to-do list.

    If anyone's interested; here's a review from Roger Ebert (which contains spoilers);

Just watched Human Centipede 2 tonight, and although the whole film was black and white, it was by FAR the grossest movie I've ever seen. Better than 1. Who else has seen 2?

i would have to agree with your assesment, #2 by far the more nasty, so much ewww, did in black&white, my friend wanted me to see the first one in theater on halloween, i really didnt have an interest as the concept shit/scat does nothing for me, but both available on Netflix which after seeing the first one, i had to see what happened in the second, the second is much worse due to the fact the "killer" did not know what he was doing, like the doctor in the first did

spoiler alert!....here is a fascinating look behind the scenes making of #2, the black and white hid so much of the prosthetics, when you see the film and then see how it was made, then its not so creepy after all, enjoy icon_razz.gif
