Well I need a laptop to work in some projects, I mean programming and stuff, nothing too expensive, It is just for work, I was thinking in something like this http://www.frys.com/product/6118349?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG but I'm afraid that I will buy it on that price and then next week would be on eBay in 100 dlls, so to prevent that I commit suicide what laptop do you recommend.

I'd get a newer unit based on a Core 2010 (e.g. i5) processor rather than the very low-end Pentium T4400.

If your first answer is that you don't so much care about speed, consider one more thing: will it be fast enough in 2-3 years? Or will you end up having to replace it sooner?

The math never works out so neatly, but consider that you might spend half as much on a low end computer but end up replacing it twice as often (or after 3 instead of 5 years)... meaning that you end up paying about the same but always having a slower computer for much of that time.

Obviously there are other factors. One way you defer spending money, but you have more upgrades to perform (fine if you like to fiddle other the hood, less so if you don't have someone to help you and in business cases where they end up paying for service).
