Does anyone else feel somewhat embarassed as all of these other countries prove themselves more progressive than the USA which founded itself on individual liberties? I know I am.

Yeah it was founded on civil liberties, but gay marriage wasn't on anyone's mind then, not even on ours. Gay marriage is a fairly new concept, and it will come with time. I'm actually amazed at the speed it's happening. The vast majority of countries are not adopting gay marriage, so no I'm not embarrassed, in fact just the opposite, since five of ours states have joined those miniscule number of countries.

A day does not go by where I don't talk to someone that is thinking the very same thing, so much for living in the free world, it is subject to everyone's opinions.
