Not only did "tokugawa" ignore your request, he also completely ignored what I posted to refute his prior nonsense and just spews more of his anti-Israel hate propaganda - while defending the regime in Teheran which denies there are homosexuals in Iran even as it executes gay teenagers.
tokugawa> As Iran's U.N. Press Officer, M.A. Mohammadi, complained to The Washington Post in a June 2006 letter:T1
. Isn't it odd that the link which tokugawa provided isn't to the Washington Post but to an Iranian government propaganda site? tokugawa has exposed his real source, and it's not the Washington Post.T2
. Even were the link provided to the Washington Post... now we are to mindlessly accept what the Iranian "Press Officer" says?
No further data or disucssion necessary?
tokugawa quoting Iranian Press Officer> It is not amazing at all, the pick-and-choose approach of highlighting the misinterpreted remarks of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in October and ignoring this month's remarks by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that "We have no problem with the world. We are not a threat whatsoever to the world, and the world knows it. We will never start a war. We have no intention of going to war with any state.T3
. The real problem is that tokugawa wants to selectively quote the rare - for show - statements [in English] while ignoring the stream of invective launched by that regime in Teheran over the past 30 years.
Recommended reading:Iran dreams of "a world without the US and Israel"http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/666082#54845_666579_nameT4
. Note also how tokugawa attempts to refute on-going statements over the past 4 years with a selective single propaganda quote from 2006.T5
. Since that time the world has uncovered additional illegal Iranian nuclear sites, including a nuclear weapons development program.Iran caught, again, trying to illegally enrich Uranium.http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/666082T6
. In late 2009, President Obama observed:
|| the size and type of the facility is inconsistent with that of a peaceful facility.
There is added irony here given that tokugawa selectively quotes half of one sentence I posted while ignoring the topic itself:
C4> One need only point out that Israel has already made peace with those Arab countries that are open to the idea (Egypt, Jordan) while extremists like Hamas, Hizbullah and the regime in Teheran reject the paradigm of compromise and peaceful coexistence and continue to call for Israel's destruction.T7
. Perhaps the silver lining is that at least he's no longer rushing to defend Hamas & Hizbullah?T8
. Not that pretending that the Iranian regime is peace-loving is any less insane. The Iranian government was so opposed to the Olso Peace Process that it formed a special department to undermine it, it's head declaring:
|| We ask you, before the vast storm of Islamic countries, to mobilize to destroy Israel and create problems for those governments who defend itT9
. Ahmadinejad, who tokugawa pleads is simply misunderstood, further threatened both the West and moderate Muslim leaders:
|| Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire
of the Islamic nation's furyT10
. Recall that the Iranian government named a street after the guy who assassinated Egyptian President Anwar Sadat (for the "crime" of making peace with Israel).T11
. Furthermore, would-be "moderates" as Rafsanjani opined that since Iran could survive a nuclear war with Israel, a first strike against it was an option. (Toss Mutually Assured Destruction out the window and think of it as a suicide bombing on a national scale; Israel would be destroyed and Iran would only suffer the loss of several cities... but it would survive.)T12
. Iran's theocratic government is so bent on Israel's destruction (i.e. "peace withOUT Israel" rather than WITH Israel) that it won't even call the state by its name.T13
. It further arms, funds and trains terrorist groups such as Hizbullah and Hamas which likewise vehemently (and violently) oppose the peace process.T14
. Hizbullah has gone even further, calling not only for the destruction of Israel but the murder of all Jews worldwide - genocide!
tokugawa> nowhere does C4 refute that Ahmadinejad's remarks were intentionally distorted
I most certainly did (see T3 & T4).
But to spell it out for you:T4A
. An idiomatic rather than literal translation is not a "distortion".
(The only distortion is claiming this is a "distortion".)T4B
. As I noted, the Iranian foreign ministry initially confirmed the accuracy of the non-distorted remark.
(They were surprised there was any confusion citing that this remark reflected official foreign policy for over a quarter century already then).T4C
. There are plenty of other remarks by Ahmadinejad that say the same thing and no one claims were "distorted" (i.e. a literal translation was provided with no wiggle-room over idioms). One of many examples I noted was "The count-down to Israel's destruction has begun" - stated at the UN! These ideas have been echoed by the Supreme Leaders and others (e.g. "mobilize to destroy Israel and create problems for those governments who defend it" was the response to the Olso peace initiative).
tokugawa> Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and as such is open to IAEA inspections.T15
. It is the IAEA which has referred Iran to the UN Security Council due to its non-compliance.Is anyone else perturbed that even on a gay site tokugawa lies and rushes to obfuscate and defend the regime which not only claims there are no homosexuals in Iran but executes gay teenagers?!
