Some numbness in my left arm/hand

I'm sure I have nothing to worry about but I just wanted to ask you guys to see if you had experienced this before. I've had some slight numbness in my left arm/hand since yesterday. I initially was panicked that it could be a heart attack/stroke but since it's last this long and I'm still pretty much ok, then it's probably not that.

Thinking back, I realized that I did a lot of cardio all of last week. I also realized that I tend to use my left side to push off when I do cardio so its becoming more clear to me that my this feeling I have is probably from muscle exhaustion. I have it in my leg as well but it's far less than my arm/hand.

Have any of you experienced this before? Thanks for any feedback!

When's the last time you went to a chiropractor? That used to happen to me while doing century rides, but it was only a pinched nerve. When it happened, I'd just schedule an appointment with the chiropractor and have it fixed.

Maybe nerve impingement in the rotator cuff?

It doesn't happen to me with cardio, but every now and then, I'll get numbness in my right hand/arm, with an accompanying cold feeling and some tingling, on the days that I do my chest workout. It was actually getting to be pretty consistent about a month ago, but now it's gotten more rare again. The only thing I ever found out was that it might be a pinched nerve, like what paul was saying.

I was thinking the same thing, as I suffer from pinched nerves as well, and sometimes get numbness. But as I say here religiously, when in doubt see a medical professional. If this continues to reoccur, or the numb sensation gets worse, seek professional advice without delay.

Also possibly impingement in the elbow.

this happens when you gain weight, eat too much salt, or when you start to sleep differently (i.e. laying on ur left side or sleeping with ur hands over ur head.)

this happened to me and it was because i was bigger but I would just mention it next time your in the docs office. a stroke is when your whole left side goes numb not nessisarily just your arm, the big thing is if u get slurred speech or u cant smile right. but u should rely on ur doc to tell you the info not us

I used to have this same problem. Plus I had a problem with my feet going numb. One day, I threw my back out and went to the Chiropractor and have never had a problem since then. You really should go see someone though.

NakedBudd saidThat happens to me once in a while too, if I've been exercising too much.

Maybe you should just give your hands a rest, for a day or two.
