Well, there WAS a very large tattoo on his right side, but I Photochopped it off because it didn't fit the scene.

I agree, I think it looks better without the tattoo. But not because he would look better without a tattoo, but that tattoo is lacking something. It's kinda boring and for that reason doesn't look all that great.
    Thanks. icon_smile.gif
The tat wasn't finished. I "tried" to make it look as though it belongs in a couple pics, but failed miserably, so I removed it instead. icon_lol.gif

    Photoshop CS2

Now since I'm on hiatus, I've switched over to Gimp for a new challenge (gonna take a couple years to master it). It's a free program, and has a lot of the same features I used in PS...but I'll still use PS for serious work when I start shooting again.

that guy is nowhere near the right body for a model... and the wrong hair... and his eyes are too soft... would make a great softcore porn actor for women... just telling them that he cooked dinner and fed the kid...

Hahaha I just like the examples of "models" you're giving us. There are a few working models out there that have tattoos that actually enhance their look.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidHym...nothing against tattoos but I would recommend he somehow tie them in together. For example, the tattoos on his left side could be turned into a partial "sleeve tatt" that connects with more work to the tattoo on his chest.

They all look like nice quality tattoos, but it has the look of getting cluttered by having several spaced out yet so close to one another.

I don't neccessarily agree with you last comment on the all look like nice quality tatts. The Iron crosses on the underside of his arm looks "self-made!"
Otherwise I aggree with your suggestion. I still have bad that needs corrected.
The other model with the tattoo with a face on his chest is just wrong. Faces are usually Wrong, Doesn't matter who it is on. (in my opinion)

Shitty treatment that was really uncalled for. Neither one of you is all that much better looking than barefoot's model.

But hey...you said "let's be frank."

    So that's what I'm doing.

Haha, fair enough. And I didn't claim to be. But hey, when you post self-promoting photos on a gay forum, and they lack.. well... they 'lack', you gotta have a thick skin, and I'm sure he does by now.

Firstly no one is "a model"

People model, and what you look like is only relevant to what kind of 'charector' you are 'playing' at that particular moment.

Tattoos are risky as they automatically turn you into a certain 'charector' that is hard to get away from, and that will restrict your ability to work on different projects.

It's no different however to getting facial piercings and dying your hair blue if you're an Engineer.

He's already doing paid work and they like his look and modeling a lot, so I really don't think it would be wise for him to drastically change his look when he has been successful with this look. A model needs to present himself in a way that clients like and want to use for their projects.

Obviously their clients don't think they suck. I know you think I suck as a model, too, but I have been accepted by another agency. Obviously, model and casting agents see things differently than you do and it is wise for models to follow the advice of their agents rather then you, since you aren't the one who is ever going to pay them, but they do.

I have received my modeling photomovement training from a top NY photomovement trainer, James Pentaudi. He is really good and really helps models to learn how to move in front of a camera, which is necessary to get paid work. Many people are photogenic, but without proper training, they will never know how to model properly for commercial work. Most of my pictures in my profile are not my modeling work. They are quick snap shots, not modeling. I don't usually post any of my commercial modeling work here. I did model for a photographer and some of that work is in albums here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/greggmichaelphotography/sets/72157623821471003/

It depends on what your tattoos are and where they are on your body and what type of modeling you are interested in doing.
