Does anyone else really hate this fashion fad? I don't see the appeal in the deep v neck tee shirt. I have to say that it reminds me of something one of my sisters would wear.

I feel like a nice fitting crew neck tee shirt or even a regular v shows off a guys body just fine. No reason to show me half of your torso!

    Thoughts?

yeah I don't get it and most of the guys I see wearing them really shouldn't be wearing them

I was hoping it would have gone out of style for the summer.

I especially hate it when they have a scarf wrapped around their necks with it!

like any clothes, it really depends who wears it , what else he wears with it and in what context .

I like Daelin's example. This is the look that I wish would go away:

    tee shirt & scarf

    v neck scarf

Even if the guy has a fantastic chest, a really deep V-neck just looks wrong in my opinion - I agree with the OP, looks very feminine!

A regular V-neck is good though. I don't have many V-tee's at the moment, should get some more now summer's here.

    Rule ....... or you'll look like a girl icon_confused.gif

If you don't have enough "chest" to stretch out the V it's too deep for you to wear

I agree with that part. It's much better to just go shirtless. icon_biggrin.gif

I think it looks stupid,e ven on guys with great chests! The vs are far too low.

most guys I see wearing them shouldnt.....are too podgy to pull em off. I tried one once and looked daft and thats with an ok chest.

I think only models look ok in them? (e.g. guy in white T shirt with lots of necklaces on)

I'm breaking the group think. In terms of fashion it is a resource for guys to have more fun and show a bit more sex in the wardrobe rather than being bundled up in a crew neck and or scarf all year long. The ideal body is a long toned guy with articulated pecs, and the thought is sex sells. I manage retail and the amount of guys who tell me they hate them and then try them on and love them (gay and straight) is amazing and most of the guys with the right chest definition I just want to rip the shirt off them and lick the skin cells off their torso icon_redface.gif..... Agree to disagree lol

I admit it, I have One Deep V. Love it at the beach or on a hot day; otherwise I go with the classic small V. I also agree with the fact that it would look much better if my chest were as someone above put it "articulated". Currently, working on that.

I think it looks good on thin guys as well, and by the way...

With those glasses and that shirt. ;) It works.

I guess I am really old fashioned. I wear these things as undershirts which are really needed if one wears an open collar shirt (like a polo jersey for example).

I bought a pair of those American Apparel deep V tee. I cannot put myself to wear it in public -- just not me. I look ridiculous in the tee. Regular V-neck tees are hot but not the extreme deep V.

YES! The garf needs to be retired permanently.
