I woke up this morning with pain on my right hand. I think I slept on it. I felt miserable the whole day and I couldn't type well, etc. Later, I went to the gym reluctantly, I thought i might just do some cycling/ treadmill. Guess what, as I was exercising, the pain disappeared! I guess it's natural painkiller released while exercising?

Any of you have had such miraculous experience?

Yep. In fact, today I'm doing some leg exercises specifically to get rid of the pain caused from sitting all scrunched up in the backseat of a small plane for four hours yesterday.

I wake up every morning and my feet are really stiff and are painful from standing on them for 10-12 hours a day for 30 years. I go exercise and the pain goes away after about 15 minutes of warming up on the treadmill or bike. Doctor says that it is the increased circulation that does it.

Increased circulation, bringing more blood and oxygen to sore muscles can help get rid of pain and soreness. The body also releases endorphins that help fight pain by blocking the receptors in the brain. Laughing, and stretching can have a similar (but less potent) affect.

Yawning is also one of the best natural stress relievers you can utilize. The reason being.. is that the jaw muscles hold a large percentage of stress, since they are the only muscles in the body that never relax.

Yep...it's the endorphins. Your body pretty much produces its own natural pain killer. Its produced naturally even at rest, but its production amps up in times of stress (physical or emotional). Originally it was a defense mechanism to help you run away from dinosaurs and stuff, but now it's more associated the runner's high/ endorphin rush. The chemical is actually an opioid so it works kinda like morphine would in your body...except in a lower dose and minus the adverse effects.

    LOL, me too.

But she does look hot in leather. You know, she'd be a hit at the Folsom Street Fair in that thing.

Honest to God, so did I! In fact, I opened the thread to make that comment after I realized my initial mistake, only to find you got here first.

Oh, well, maybe somebody will actually start a thread that does read "PALIN disappears while exercising" (please, dear God, I don't ask you for much), and when that subject is in turn misread we can get back to pain remission during exercise.
