...enough said? has anyone seen this ad? It just flashed by on the forums for me, it was setup as a chat room where you can 'talk about christ' and on the right it was an LDS ad...

shit if we need to pay donations to RJ to keep that ad off the site, i'm fine by that

They go to the places where the sinners hang out right??

However, they need to look in their own back yard where hatred is raised and perpetrated. I know this!

Because RJ probably has contextual advertising. I believe this means that if someone is busily preaching religion on here (like barefootdude's topics) the Adsense spots it.

    "Contextual targeting

    * AdSense displays ads related to the content of your page."

    from Adsense.

The ads actually are tailored to your location and interests. icon_smile.gif You must be clicking on some religious sites.

Given the target audience of this site, this is unacceptable.

There must be a way for the organizers of the site to request to filter out inappropriate advertisers.

They aren't going to deny any paying advertisers. It's how they provide the site free and my ads are all local things and things that pertain to my surfing habits. I get a lot of ads about photography. lol

Don't agree. Of course there are ways to filter out inappropriate advertisers from your site. You don't see ads for adult services on religious sites, after all, or for hamburger joints on vegetarian sites, or for confederate flags on black interest sites, and so on.

"Some ads are based primarily on your search queries or on the content of the page you’re viewing."

So stop spamming the boards with your religious doctrine, barefootdude.

I wouldn't mind if they just came to my door, all nice and clean-shaven and yummy. You would see some conversion happening allright! icon_twisted.gif
