"...allows for safe human interaction with possibly dangerous robots"

Don't humans make enough shit that backfires and kills them already to add highly specialized motor sensory components? Other than that it's super cute <3

That is so cool!!! It's a machine and yet the robot is actually adorable in a clumsy sort of way.

    Great video, T.

Initially, I had to fight impulses of wanting to stomp on it and destroy it.
But over time and seeing how it was trying to adapt, I now want to help and take care of it.

    It's scarier cousin:

@Anto - The second vid is really cute and funny.

Actually I think big dog is rather less scary because it exhibits a whole order of magnitude less situational awareness. Little dog is headed in the direction of being a very serious piece of robotic evolution.

I think I watched too much scifi as a child. It constantly amazes me how we don't have Jetson-like robotics already. I want my cheap, housekeeping robot maid.

    Props to the scientists, though!

Don't worry. This technology will only be used for the good of mankind.

^ Thank you. These things seriously frighten me. Fortunately I'll be dead by the time they're aware and machine-gun loaded...or whatever fun way of killing people they've come up with by then.

Awww, the LittleDog Robot looks so adorable. That stubby black carapace brings to mind a juvenile version of a creature from those Alien movies. How humiliating to have that handle on its back, though.

Don't worry Ciar, they won't be climbing walls or anything soon...

    Ooops!

Well, we have a ways to go before they're like insects, walking on water or something...

    Ooops!

    Maybe I'll just stop there...

Ayup, you're right--that yellow dancing thingy was probably another DARPA project.
