DC Travel Questions

I have a travel question about the DC area.

I have an international conference in DC - at which I'm presenting - the last week of April. The conference is at the Omni Shoreham. My workplace has a cap on lodging expenditures. So I need to find a hotel cheaper in that vicinity. Sadly, I've checked the major sites, signed up for Hotwire, and so far, no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Hotel ideas? Off the beat sites - beyond Hotwire, Priceline, Kayak, etc?

Thank you for any and all useful feedback.

You might want to trek it a bit and take the metro into Northern Virginia and find a hotel there. It'll be cheaper than staying in the city.

I've stayed in Crystal City before but I had hoped to not have to trek so far this time.

I just found a great rate for the Jury's in Dupont Circle. Anyone have thoughts on that place?

The Jurys is sure close to the metro so that should be a great place.

Was just in DC sev week ago and stayed at the Hotel Palomar on Dupont Circle. LOVED IT! And it was cheap too, altho they were running a promo cuz of the holidays. I've heard that other Kimpton hotels nearby are cheaper still. Might check their website. (And Caslon is so right about being close to a Metro stop too--makes life so much easier.)

    Thanks fellas.

My conference is just one metro stop north from the Dupont stop, so that's going to be a good area for me. I love DC and can't wait. I hope the weather is warm so the park will be full of hot men on Sunday afternoon.
