anyone know how to make a natural pre-workout drink?

    I was told by a friend he doesn't drink pre-workout drinks, but that he makes his own shake. I was wondering if anyone does this. I'm considering tossing the Pre workout chemical cocktail and replacing it for health reasons. anyone have any good recipees that give you that boost of energy to push through your workouts?

    A general formula I use when I make my pre workout drinks is:

    1 cup of skim milk (Hemp milk if you're lactose intolerant/dairy free)
    1/2 cup of fresh or frozen fruit
    1/4 cup crushed ice (2-3 cubes)
    2 scoops protein powder of your choice
    2 tbsp Peanut butter (optional)

    Toss in blender, shred, and drink. Makes appx. 18 oz.
