The heat is definitely increasing our business and volume at UPS, so that is good. In fact they had to hire 2 more unloaders. Trailers are coming in full of boxes of fans and air conditioners.
Many of our schools have 2 and even 3 floors and on the 2nd and 3rd floors are the worst and almost intolerable for teachers and students. Tempertures on 2nd and 3rd floor classrooms are over 100 degrees inside with extremely humid conditions so that it is like a sauna. I have to cut grass today, but I will just have to drink lots of water. Supervisors were getting us water in the trailers because the heat builds up inside and there is no way to get any air inside. We are just not use to this here and our center is not air conditioned because it's just an empty garage during the day and they have to open all the garage doors for the drivers to get out and then they would lose all the cool air.
So it doesn't pay to cool the building because they would lose all the cool air when the drivers have to get out. They leave all the garage doors open, so it isn't too bad early in the morning working on the belts, but we don't have any air at all in the back where we unload. When they move a trailer out, we get just a couple minutes of some fresh air outside before they back up another one and then it is really hot inside the trailer. They are coated with a special material to reduce interior heat, but it still gets really hot inside and no windows to open. lol
