I think it perpetuates anti-gay sentiment by stigmatizing a gay activity.

Sorry, HK. But guess where this is being done...Kansas!

Governor's son sells 'Don't Drop the Soap'

I find that a little hard to imagine, but I will review and give you my assessment. I can't imagine Kathleen (Sebellious, the governor) being anything but sincere..

    i think it's pretty funny.

some people get mad at stores for selling "fire breathing Jesus" wind up toys. i see the humour in that too.

as for stigmatizing a gay activity. to gay guys having sex isn't a bad thing. but being raped int eh shower IS. i'm pretty sure, as a gay man you don't wanna be raped, and nor do straight guys. i don't see it as referencing a gay activity so much as a .... well, anal raping...

I think it's pretty funny too. It's wrong on virtually every possible level, and it's being sold from government house? What a ripper!

I assume that there's no gay relationship bill coming through the Kansas parliament any time soon?

Offensive. Rape is rape, whether it occurs in prison or not.

This game is crap. Not only is it offensive to me as a gay man, it is offensive to me as a minority because a large portion of this "soap dropping" prison population is (let's face it) black. I'm disgusted by this.

Ofcourse, this is no more offensive than rap music or graphic video games that glorify a life of crime and degradation. I can't get mad at the little pampered judge's son who will profit from this.

Afterall, I listen to Death Metal, a medium that twist lyrical images of death, murder, and mayhem into an extremely low form of entertainment. What's more is, after hours and sometime before, I watch gay pornographic materials that i'm sure a LARGE majority of the population, some who even may not be self righteous ultra conservatives, some who may even be gay would fault me for.

I'm GUILTY ladies and gentleman, just as guilty as the jerks who will buy this game and since I am a jerk too, I cannot judge. Everyone of us has fallen short of the glory of the Cher and enjoyed a lower form of entertainment. What is yours?

I don't see the title as stigmatizing a "gay activity," but as drawing a laugh on the expense of prison rape victims (the CNN article doesn't touch on whether similar humor exists within the game itself).

The game's setup with fighting one's way to parole sounds like a combination of Rockstar's Manhunt and Rockstar's Bully (a game I enjoy, largely because it isn't as violent as Manhunt or the GTA games). As long as Governor Sebelius and Magistrate Sebelius don't make asses of themselves on the "think of the children" bandwagon, and thus engage in glaring hypocrisy, I do not see them as warranting significant criticism.

I hope that John Sebelius applies his creative talents toward more conciliatory games in the future though; ones whose titles do not make light off of victimized persons.

You can still judge even if you are (as you say) a jerk. It's just adviseable to not be on a high horse while doing so.
