Around 4 sounds about right for me icon_wink.gif
Although I only learned the definition of the word 'gay' when I was 6 or 7. Actually I asked my mom what it meant, and after she explained I started laughing, little did she know I forced that reaction cause that seemed to be the only innocent thing to do; she gave me a lot to think about... icon_eek.gif(looove this simly-face...)

When I was five or six I saw an article in a newspaper supplement on Arnold Schwarzenegger and I was like 'yup, something's going on there!'

*I should add that I also had a crush at the same time on Cindy Crawford. A younger Arnie and Cindy in bed = icon_biggrin.gif

I definitely knew something was up since I was young. As my friends and I matured I noticed a disconnect when they talked about girls and I didn't share their interests. I hid it from myself because I was afraid. I didn't want to be different or looked down upon for who I was. I had 3 girlfriends. One moved to Kansas before anything happed (whew), the second had issues with gays so I broke it off (indication of something?), and the third was the last denial. I came to terms with who I am in junior year of high school. Overtime I tested the waters by coming out to friends and family who were all wonderful about it. Now that I'm in college I have no regrets. My entire family knows as well as my friends in college. I don't shout out about my sexuality when I meet someone new but if it comes up in conversation then there's no problem.

I was a kind of gay little kid, but I grew to be more masculine as I got into middle and highschool.. had no clue i was 'gay' till 10th grade. I can look back however, and see that I was gay long before that.

When I was 5 or 6 I had a neighbor in his teens who was constantly shirtless. I had a seething anger towards him whenever he was shirtless, and I never knew why.

    Oh misdirected energy icon_smile.gif

Oh and around that time I told my parents that when I grew up I wanted to be a girl. LOL

I used to read educational history comic books during the first few grades of elementary school (they were actually very informative and entertaining@@), then I found myself drawing on comic characters that's not wearing top, giving them muscle chest and arms ... but then I didn't really clue in until I am in high school, and stayed closeted until college...

I couldn't really tell I was attracted to the same sex until mid to late high school. My first and biggest crush was when I was 12 years old on a girl in intermediate school. Then, over the course of 6 years, my attraction swung so slowly over from mostly women to mostly men that I couldn't tell why most middle/high school chicks were unattractive until it hit me in 10th grade. It was surprising to realize but I just took it in stride. After all, I was still the same me as I was before I came to that realization so it didn't really matter. It just changed the game a little bit(okay, maybe a lot a bit but you get the idea).

5-6 I used to watch black and white movies of Tarzan... in my jockstrap that i had for Karate. I wanted to be Tarzan... naked except for a loin cloth--actually I wanted him to save me.

From ages 5-10 I loved playing "good guys bad guys" (cops and robbers) with the other boys around the neighborhood. Ialways wanted to be the bad guy... the guy being chased and captured and roughed up lol.

Also, I loved the movie Karate Kid 2... I wanted to be saved by Danielson.

When I was in elementary school, I loved watching the high school kid with amazing body and hairy chest across the street mow the lawn shirtless. In high school, I had a huge crush on my gf's brother. That's when I knew I was not like the other boys.

I knew I was different in 7th grade. I had no idea what "gay" was though until I was older. I think I was around 12-13.

From day ONE! I remember being very young and knowing that I didn't want a wife! First crush was in grade 1, I guess that was 6 years old. That crush was on another little boy in my class. I had no idea what was going on, but I wanted him to play with me at recess and I was jealous when he was playing with someone else. SIX years old and getting crazy over another boy! I remember during that same year that there was this hot teacher too, and I wished I was in his class. He had hairy arms and was really nice. All I knew was that I wasn't supposed to feel that way, and I never told anyone. Playing kissing tag with the girls in the school yard was always gross.
