My apologies if this has already been posted. I did a search (albeit, not a thorough one) and nothing popped up, but anywho...

I didn't know if many people were aware of the new gay sports magazine, Sports Out Loud. It's not too bad, actually getting better as more issues are published; only three thus far, but it has very good potential. I can't remember where I found it, but I jumped onboard right as the first issue was getting ready to be published and I was immediately hooked.

    Here's a link: http://www.sportsoutloud.com/

Check it out if you like, whatever. (I'm not affiliated with the magazine at all, but I thought I'd put it out there.)

I'm surprised this got no replies. I've been a subscriber since the second or third issue, and I have to say it is really a good magazine. It is obviously a new magazine, but getting better all the time.

I'm also surprised I haven't seen any cross-promotion. Realjock and Sports Out Loud seem like the only two companies geared toward fitness and sports-minded gays but I haven't seen any ads on either for the other (though now I won't be seeing any ads, so I wouldn't know if they started, heehee).

Looks pretty good. It appears that there were 3 or 4 issues last year before the current "Volume 2" of 2008. I'll have to do some reading here before I decide, but so far, it looks very appealing.

It's cool this exists, because there are a lot of gay guys not into sports. Great college game this weekend with Alabama at Georgia.

    Hey Guys,

We recently changed our name to Compete, The Gay Sports Magazine.

    Our new website is www.competemag.com

You can also read our blog at competemag.blogspot.com
join our myspace group at myspace.com/competemag
or our facebook group Compete Magazine

The most recent issue had a feature on Esera Tuaolo and America's Best Gay Sports Bars. We also have Patricia Nell Warren (Author of The Front Runner) as a regular columnist.

We also have a new section called "Couch Potato," which is an interview with a non-athlete celebrity. It's a sports/entertainment-type Q&A.

Here's an Excerpt from the Q&A with Jonny McGovern:

Compete: Who do you favor to win the Super Bowl?
JM: Yes, I'm sure that the...(very long pause)... uh, the most muscular team.

C: How about the pimpin'-est team?
JM: The team with the most man-on-man locker room rape. I feel like ESPN should hire me for their new locker room channel for their locker room footage.

C: Who would you rather have backing you up in an after school fight?
    a. Gillette
    b. Oaktown's 357 (rap group of two former MC Hammer back up dancers)
    c. NeNe (from the Real Housewives of Atlanta)
    d. Linda James
JM: Ideally, I would have NeNe and Linda James because between the two fo them I could kick anyone's ass.

I got an error when I tried to read the document in acrobat. I think it left out all the photos.

I clicked on view current issue on the sportoutloud link. It downloaded, gave me an error when it opened. I saw some text and a lot of blank pages.

We've correct the error. That wasn't supposed to be there.

Thank you for letting me know about this.
