When the Democrats passed HCR reform, the Republicans whined endlessly about "how dare the Democrats pass HCR reform when a majority of Americans oppose passing the bill"?
They claimed that Democrats should do what the majority of Americans wanted.

NOW almost every single Republican in the House of Represenatives has voted against repealing DADT.
DESPITE the FACT that 8 in 10 Americans SUPPORT repealing DADT.
Which is a FAR bigger majority of the country than the narrow majority of Americans who oppose the passage of the HCR bill.
Suddenly now what the American people want doesn't matter.
All that matters to the Republicans is what the extreme gay-hating religious right that makes up the base of the Republican party wants.

    Wow, what UNBELIEVABLE HYPOCRISY.

What else is new, the conservative wing of the GOP has to ingratiate itself with the religious, right wing lunatics or they will have no base. Conservative republicans for the most part are the biggest bunch of hypocrites, liars, and losers. So this latest negative stunt in opposing the DADT repeal does not surprise me in the least.

80%(!) of American women are in favor of gays serving openly in the military.
60% of American men are in favor of gays serving openly in the military.

You're right that, during the health care debate, House minority leader Republican John Boehner was on TV every single day, saying that the American people were "screaming at the top of their lungs for us to stop this legislation."

Where is the orange faced fool, now ?

There's hypocrisy on both sides, all the time. There's more pots to call more kettles black that I care to think about. Calling out one party as if the other does no wrong... is hypocrisy defined within itself.

Some legitimately wanted to wait for the review to come out before they voted, I don't think that makes them hypocrites. Webb voted against it for the reason, and I don't see anyone calling him out on it.

The fact some needed cover from their base, they could have at least gone back to their more conservative base and said "Look, the military review came back fine, we let the military handle it."

I agree, not all would have voted for it even still. Even 26 Democrats voted against it, so its not a perfect world.

i think your list of issues is a pretty good one to assess how to judge a politician. and guess what, as someone who once considered myself a moderate republican, i now consider the republican party part wrong on most of these 15 issues. they have lost me completely.

Thanks. I am the opposite. I used to be more democrat when i was younger in college but then i grew up, got a job, paid a ton of taxes, joined the military, found success and well basically lived life and opened my eyes and now i am without question and with no apologies more conservative.

Interesting. The more I have had experience in the world, and have had success in running a significant business with operations around the world, the more I find i come to the conclusion that the Republican party has become tied to a hypocritical pursuit of failed economic and social policies, with a total misread as well of how to be effective internationally. Guess we just have very different perspectives.

As a businessman, liberals support higher taxes, pro union and heavier regulations. This is a nightmare for a small busines owner trying to do the right thing and having the govt decrease their personal discretion.

    LMFAO!
    What TOTAL BS.
The Republican party has been an abject failure on all those issues.

Let's have a look at your list.
1.) 9-11 happened on a Republican presidents' watch - not a Democrats' watch.
    Enough said.
2.) The Bush tax cuts have added and will continue to add hundreds of billions of dollars to the National Debt without helping the economy or 98% of Americans.
Only the rich have benefitted from tax cuts that overwhelmingly went to the richest 1-2%.
And Reagan raised taxes on the middle class 11 times, contrary to the bs Republicans like to spin about his record.
3.) The Republican record on handling the economy and deficit spending is FAR FAR worse than the Democrats.
The Republicans are responsible for the vast majority of the National Debt, and the last two major recessions.
4.) The Republicans did NOTHING to reform the health care system during the years they controlled the White House and the Congress.
Instead they passed a massive prescription drug bill that was/is 100% unpaid for. Every dime spent on their prescription drug bill is added to the National Debt.
5.) The Republicans spent the 8 years of the Bush administration weakening all the environmental protections put in place by previous administrations - including the Clean Air act that was passed by NIXON.
6.) The Republicans severely weakened regulations during the Bush years contributing greatly to the banking meltdown and the housing meltdown and the oil spill currently fouling the Gulf of Mexico and destroying the ability of many Americans to make a living.
7.) A woman's right to choose what she does with her own body is her right.
The federal government has no business telling any American citizen what he/she does with their own body.
The Republicans want to enforce their religious beliefs on all Americans.
8.) The Republicans want to enforce their religious beliefs on all Americans by banning all stem cell research.
9.) The Republicans want to enforce their religious beliefs on all Americans by banning gays from serving honestly and openly like all other American citizens.
10.) The Republicans want to destroy the unions and put all the power about how employees are treated back in the hands of the rich and powerful corporations who care only about profits and not about the American worker.
They also want to destroy the unions because the unions are mostly supporters of the Democratic party.
    A selfish partisan reason.
11.) The Democratic party is not all of one mind on these issues.
There is a range of opinion and it's bs to try to state that all Democrats share the same views on these issues.
12.) The Democrats want common sense regulations to keep the purchase of some firearms limited and controlled.
The Republicans want to be free to buy whatever guns they want w/o any interference from the law.
An extreme viewpoint when it comes to buying a deadly weapon.
The rest of the list is all minor issues and none of them offer any reason to vote Republican - especially given the record they've amassed of gross incompetence and irresponsibilty on all the major issues.

But, of course, you don't care about the facts.
You have a predetermined brainwashed mindset to support the Republicans right or wrong, regardless of the facts.
Because even if it's legitimate to back the Republicans if you're socially conservative - it's NOT legitimate to back the Repubs because they're (SUPPOSEDLY) fiscally conservative.
The Republican record on fiscal matters is extremely LIBERAL- NOT conservative.
When they controlled the Congress and held the White House from 2001-2007, they passed massive bloated budget larded with Republican pork after massive bloated budget larded with Republican pork.
Adding hundreds of billions of dollars in deficits to the National Debt year after year - even after they tricked the American people by not including the war spending in the yearly deficit counts as had always been done previously.
So, unless one is first and ONLY interested in voting for politicians who are extremely socially conservative - there's NO reason to vote for the Republicans.

PA"stud"21's "perspective" has been shaped by many many hours spent watching the Fox propaganda channel getting brainwashed by right-wing BS.
He's a lost cause, so don't expect to be able to talk sense into him.
He's allergic to facts that don't agree with his pro-Republican bias.

sxydrkhair saidI should make a thread "More liberal or Democrats hypocrisy!"

You've just been stabbed in the back by almost all of the Republicans in the House, and yet you still rush to try to attack the Democrats - who voted FOR equal rights for gays.
And you try to defend the Republicans, who voted AGAINST equal rights for gays, and who don't give a shit about you.
    Have you no pride?
