Whenever the endorphins are pumping, the one song that consistently has become my default "happy" tune is "There's A Great, Big, Beautiful, Tomorrow".

Written in 1964 by Richard and Robert Sherman for Disney's Carousel of Progress attraction, this infectious tune presents an unwavering optimism for the future without a trace of irony.

Don't get me started on "It's A Small World"....

Awww thanks!

When I thought of "My Life" I remember it as the theme song from the sitcom "Bosom Buddies", when Tom Hanks was a comedic actor. Anyone else remember that? I was knee-high to a grasshopper back then, but I thought it was the funniest thing on TV

I have a recording of Marlene Dietrich singing "Puff the Magic Dragon" ("paff, der zauberdrachen") in German and it puts me in hysterics no matter what my mood is.

Please don't ask me who Marlene Dietrich is.

Lately, I like the version of Leonard Cohen's "Anthem" sung by Perla Batalla & Julie Christensen on the soundtrack to "I'm Your Man."

LOL I totally dig that song. I've been teased so bad for the cluster of songs I have on my ipod. When I'm working out for some reason I go all bubblegum, campy, boyband in my tastes with most of my songs. Lots of NSYNC, Christina, and even Brit pre the mess she's in now. Throw in a little R&B like Deborah Cox's Easy As Life or even Kimberley Lockes mixs of Band of Gold and I'm just a happy gay boy trying to take care of his body. hahaha!

I can so appreciate the whole Tom Jones thing. I have his greatest hits CD. It's not unusual and Delilah definitely get the good vibes goin! It's not Unusual not only reminds me of the Carlton dance but also reminds me of Karen from Will and Grace. She was rockin out to that song in one episode.

George Michael - Fast Love

Shania Twain - Up!
This was from the Juno awards in 2003 when I worked with Shania as her stylist. At one point when she's in the crowd you can see a friend of mine that was so excited to tell me about Shania singing right infront of her. I told her I was so jealous because I was busy backstage with Shania and missed her singing. Shameless name-dropping.

Pretty much any song from Shania Twain and Marilyn Manson puts me in a good mood.

Roxette's "Fading Like Flower" not the original, but this dance mix. The lyrics are kinda a downer, but this mix makes me all happy anyway. I always wanted to do a campy video to it where I'm trying to dodge an ex and keeping running into him all over town while being simultaneously stalked by a crazy drag queen.

Well I don't know about "no matter what" .. but last night I was listening to some music and remembered this one ..

Friday I'm in Love - The Cure
The music is cheery and the lyrics too
I don't care if monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and wednesday too
Thursday i don't care about you
It's friday i'm in love

it reminds me how fickle emotions are and how quickly things can turn around ..

Oh second is Blondie - "Dreaming" in particular there is a mix called the Utah Saints Mix

Sorry for the autoplay!

I have a Firefox plugin that prevents this, so I didn't notice.

"Diamond Road" Sheryl Crow

"Stop" Spice girls

"Abe Messiah" The Tribe (video below). You have to get at least all the way through the first chorus to realize what a powerful song it is. Love it. Big inspiration to me.

L.O.V.E. by Christina Milian. There's something about it that is just so fresh sounding and uplifting no matter how many times I hear it.

Dave Matthews Band - "The Best of What's Around"

See, you and me
Have a better time
Than most can dream of
Have it better than the best
So can we pull on through
Whatever tears at us
Whatever holds us down
And if nothing can be done
We'll make the best of what's around

.... DIVA ALERT .... EURO DISCO ALERT .... POLY LAMÉ ALERT ....
* I first heard the german version as a kid, at New Year's parties and beer halls, but was thoroughly oblivious to the risqué lyrics.
* I rediscovered it when I first started going to gay clubs – the sexy, French disco version by Chatelaine recorded here in Montreal.
* But last night, while searching for this track, I discovered it was first an international hit for this Italian, super-styling bella donna:

A Far L'Amore Comincia Tu (Liebelei/ Corps à Corps/ Do It Do It Again)

It's become very clear to me that my mood swings in rhythm to my booty!

Alphaville Forever Young. Kind of a poignant one as when I hear it first off it makes me very sad as it reminds me of my brother who died a number of years ago now, but then it makes me smile as I think of all the happier memories with him

Sorry if that sounds a downer but its a song that moves me and makes me realise life is fab and is there for the experiencing

Hahaha! RBY, The Lonely Goat Herd is my favourite Sound of Music number!

The stakes have risen – just you try to top the Jodel Köningl! I dare ya to!

Of all the dubious "Get Happy" music on my iTunes, this is by far the kind of stuff that seriously drives my neighbours insane!
