    Hmm apparently this is pretty old. My dad just told me he saw it in a magazine four years ago.

    It is a pretty old technology, however the key detail is the no water usage for power production, those mirrors need to be cleaned regularly to keep the efficiency up otherwise they have a fast curve from producing maximum to producing none and it requires a great deal of water to clean one of those.

    Also the mirrors used are rather expensive and fragile, plus with the amount of time these have been around, they just haven't taken off yet at all.

    Wind generators are a better investment for most companies, they have less maintenance costs and usually a longer life and if placement is well chosen a more consistent production of energy
