So here's the situation..my parents own a smart car that I will be using for the upcoming school year. I park it outside because the garage is filled with 2 other cars...

Well last night someone came over to our house and tipped the smart car on its right side! The sideview mirror is smashed, the window is smashed...ugh I'm just frustrated that some jerk thought it would be cool to flip over the small car. Yeah its not. The insurance is going to help pay for the damages..which is good..but damn I can't believe some people thought this would be cool.

Yeah I've had this happen to a few mates, its not too expensive to repair thankfully at least not nearly as exspensive as a classic mini which has happened to another mate but it's still inncredibly annoying and makes you wonder about people.

Where you able to tip it right side up by your self? Mate and i wondered how we might do it just ended up pushing it at the b pillar and she popped right back up again icon_smile.gif

It sucks you had to go through that. But the image of someone walking out to a tipped car gave me the giggles icon_biggrin.gif

I'll get a "smart" car when the engineers are smart enough to realize this is common (and kinda funny really), and make design improvements that prevent damage from rollovers when the car is not moving.

Almost 30 years ago, in 5th grade, my English teacher's "Le Car" got tipped at school. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. icon_lol.gif

Sorry about the damage to your car, buddy, but I have to admit that I'm laughing too.

Post a pic of your car on it's side if you have it.

How about leaving the untippable car in the driveway and park the smart car inside the garage? Most likely It will happen again.

    I kind of want to:
    a) hug that car
    b) laugh a little at the preposterous situation
    c) hug the car again
    d) pat you on the back because of the sucky property damage

I forgot to mention that there were handprints on the car, but it had rained or something that apparently the police couldn't trace anything..lame. They said there was nothing they could do.

i wasnt referring to police work. Chances are slim ud catch the lulzlers who did it....unless ur prepared for the next time they do it....

.but u still need to file a report and get the police involved so u can file an insirance claim and get ur car fixed

Tape a small sign inside the windows on each side.

"Warning: You are on camera, right now."

People are so ignorant. It's one thing to think that it could be done and to do that to a car would be funny. But to realize the personal property damage and the cost to repair is unfathomable that someone would still go through with it.

At the same time...it's kinda too funny not to snort a little at it. icon_lol.gif

Just glad no one was physically harmed.

At least all the body panels on them are bolt on plastic so any damaged ones are easy to replace. You can keep spares at home & change them whenever you like, red day, blue day etc.
It may not be worth going through the insurance company if it affects your future payments.

they can hike his pmt if whatever happened is by fault of his own....(datz why theyll hike ur premiums if the police report sayz u just done an accident by ur fault....but not if some stooped hit u) ....if he gotz nuffin to do with it like here hell be fine.....if they want to hike his premiums they have to wait till his policy expires and reassess the value of the policy when he renews..

Once you tip it back over, measure the distance between you and the rear bumper. What happens to you if you get rear-ended? They should have called it the suicidal car.
