    Olympic training plansand half iron man...anyone have agood program out there. I am trianing for an olympic later this summer, anyone in Marylnd interested in competing?

    It depends if you're starting from ground zero or if you already have a foundation of good fitness in any of the three disciplines. There are some websites out there with some training plans for beginners and those with some experience, so you should check those out. I'm happy to share tips, but I'll need to know a bit more about your general fitness level currently.

    Check out Trinewbies.com, beginnertriathlete.com, and slowtwitch.com. You may find materials there. I've also clipped past training plans from Triathlete Magazine and other sources. Again, it all depends on where you are starting.

    As far as training, there are number of tri clubs in the Maryland and DC area. DC Tri Club has a decent number of gay members. I try to organize a LGBT happy hour for the club once a year, but we generally don't feel a need to segregate because acceptance in the club is quite high.
