Ok I juss got my evo and I love it Omg its awesome. So now let's debate will the evo out do the iPhone 4 or not
RedMenace saidAgreed. Apple has a great base of faithful customers. It's amazing the turn around the company has seen. AT&T would probably be a no for me but I'm not with Sprint either. I think overall, I'm way too much of a geek to go Apple at this time.
ad2mac saidIt will be interesting to see how the two will perform against each other. The iPhone already has a faithful following and is stuck on AT&T, but the HTC Evo is on Sprint.
real geeks own every prototype for bench marking purposes
charlitos saidThe HTC EVO is the best Android phone IMO. Love the screen and the overall design ain't bad. However the EVO is way heavier and thicker than the new iPhone, actually the iPhone 4 compared to all top smartphones(windows and android) is the thinnest and one of lightest ones. The EVO has a lower battery life and even when having a bigger screen it offers a lower image quality compared to iPhone 4's resolution. Camera wise the EVO offers 8MP vs 5MP on the iPhone, the iPhone however can record video at 720p 30fps vs 720 25 fps on the EVO. They both have a front facing camera and LED flash. The evo comes with 8GB upgradable up to 32GB, the iPhone will be offering 16GB and 32GB built in.
I think the iPhone 4 wins this one.
creature saidI love my Evo. I was going to wait until the end of July to buy it, but when I found out the release date was my birthday I decided to go ahead and get it.
I must've watched every clip on YouTube regarding the phone, including the reviews and the sample videos of the HD footage. Phonedog has been a great help, Noah in particular. I even became a member on androidforum so I could post questions.
One of the constant comments about the phone is its size and how it would most likely not fit in the front pocket. But it fits in the front pocket of a pair of raw jeans I own that shrunk after I mistakenly dried it in the dryer. And when I sit down with the phone in the pocket, it doesn't feel awkward. It's also not as heavy as I expected it to be.
Now I just need to put my music on the micro sd card and I can leave my iPod at home.
RedMenace saidTons of great cases out there for it but you already snagged one I'm sure.
I wondered if the bigger screen would make it too wide to handle but from what I've seen I was wrong. Ran into a friend last night who had the EVO. She's not a big woman and seemed to have no problem using it one-handed. I'm trying hard to not have EVO-envy.
