If you look at astrology and all of that junk in the newspaper then you don't know what real astrology is. Your sun sign is only the zodiac sign you were born in. It does not show much about you. Real astrology has to know where your rising sign, moon, and planets are on your chart. A persons personality will mostly come from their rising sign NOT their sun sign. It is a confusing thing, and I don't know how to do it, but I have had mine done recently. It was surprisingly accurit. I don't know whether to believe the method has any truth to it, or if it was a coincidence, but it is very surprising how accurate mine was. I know that it has not been accurate for many people so I don't care if I have a date with a Gemini or Scorpio, or whatever.

I'm a Scorpio (duh!), and am told I have a lot of typical Scorpio qualities (the good ones icon_biggrin.gif ), but I've also been told I have a lot of good qualities of my rising sign as well...

That being said, no I don't live by astrology. I have a couple of friend who are VERY much into it though, and they've been working on my chart for a while (apparently, my chart has a LOT of unusual occurrences).

The only horoscope I read is Rob Brezney's:

    It's fun!

I do natal charts, manually (which is time consuming and a pain) and I also have a computer program that is SO much quicker and easier. I find astrology to be pretty accurate when describing the traits of an individual.

I'm a Scorpio with a Sagittarius rising, and my best match is Pisces then Capricorn.

For the purpose of finding your ideal match sun-sign wise, you would need to find a website or book that is tailored to gay men, as it's pretty different than sign matching for heterosexuals.

About 17 years ago, I dated, for couple months, a guy who really believe this stuff he was water sign not sure which one. I am a Virgo and Earth sign. The morning after I professed my love to him...as he asked. We broke up the reason "I am a water sign and you are an Earth sign...that means our relationship would be mud. Oh, yes, thanks for the great sex last night". I gather my backpack and left shaking my head and laughing.

I have no seen him in 17 years...he probably still chasing his astral plainicon_smile.gif

If you create a profile and enter your birthday, time and place data you can find some intresting insites on the subject.

    I am a Cancer/ Virgo Rising/ Moon in Libra.

I have a bad habit of judging people by there charts. My most major relationships have been with Virgo's and Leos. I probably would not date a Leo again for several reasons. Sagitarrius to me is like a moth to the flaime.

I have studied astrology for several years now, feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I am very educated on the subject.

I love astrology. It's fun to stereotype people. Here are a few common generalizations regarding the twelve signs:

    Aries: Bossy.
    Taurus: Lazy.
    Gemini: Scatter-brained.
    Cancer: Whiny.
    Leo: Vain.
    Virgo: Prudish.
    Libra: Spineless.
    Scorpio: Slutty.
    Sagittarius: Reckless.
    Capricorn: Greedy.
    Aquarius: Weird.
    Pisces: Drunk.

The fact is, most people's "sun signs" are wrong anyway. The dates of the zodiacal signs are based on solar positions along the ecliptic that were compiled prior to the year 140 A.D. Today's birth signs do not account for nearly 2000 years of precession, which is significant. The bottom line, if you think you're an Aquarian - you aren't. The sun was actually in front of Capricornus when you were born in the 20th Century.

Oh, and by the way, if you were born in the second half of November or first half of December, your true sun sign is Ophiuchus. There are actually 13 zodiacal constellations, not just 12.

So, my astrological preference is someone who does not believe in astrology.

Jeepgazer, you're talking about astronomy, not tropical astrology. In tropical astrology the signs correspond with the solstice points and not the constellations. The area of the sky that the Babylonians called Aries didn't contain the constellation Aries until the time of the Romans. The Romans are responsible for drawing those images of animals over the constellations during the times you've noted, but that has nothing to do with the traditional tropical astrology that was developed centuries before.

Traditional astrology has nothing to do with the constellations, anyway. In fact, many purists don't even recognize the planets beyond Saturn.

    Mr.Jeepgazer,

yes 13 but astrology's not exactly science! )
For centuries it was more of an art for advanced philosophers. There were some periods of true science - real creative thinking, "pensee symbolique". icon_wink.gif
Big time ago at uni i was impressed by mathematicians Kepler, Euler's way of thinking and their exercises in astrology as well. But there were others - greeks, renaissance, for instance.. icon_smile.gif

12 - 'cause it supposed to represent big clock

I'm an aquarius, and suprisingly, my close friends have always been other aquarians. But that's really the only astrological anomolly I've noticed in my life.

I've aborted opening profiles with prominent social sites on which there was no way to delete the "astrology" field. I won't define myself by such stupid crap. I've got enough real stupid crap of my own.

I'm a Gemini with a Virgo rising and a Taurus moon.

I seem to fall hardest for and get along best with Virgos in dating situations. I've never dated a Piscean, but I seem to surround myself with a lot of them and we get along freakishly well. Dating other Geminis is easy breezy because we never have the need or desire to explain ourselves to each other.

The worst experiences have always been Scorpios and Leos. Too many control and dominance issues and I've never known a Gemini who would allow himself to be controlled unless it's just for kicks in the bedroomicon_wink.gif Being the most ephemeral of the air signs, you'd have better luck telling the wind which way to blow.icon_lol.gif

Total and definitive Sag here, but I generally don't let that influence my dating decisions too much. The only exception is Libras. I had a very bad experience with a Libra several years ago and am still leery about dating one to this day.
Sorry all you other Libra guys... icon_razz.gif

On the surface yes, but we actually notice and absorb everything while hiding behind a mask of ADHD. My best trick is not only quoting you verbatim on something years later and throwing it in your face, but also telling you where we were, what time of day, what we were both wearing and what song was playing.
