Topic is not about what your dirty minds are imagining right now!
    _________________________________________________________

Hi everybody, this might be a completly useless topic but tonight was the first time I was actually at a gay disco / club.
Being so deep in the closet that none of my friends (except 1) and none of my family know about me being gay it was quite an accomplishment for me personally.
And it was so much fun, talking to some other people, not actually flirting because I am still to chickenshit to do that but getting wasted there was actually very nice;)
Lots of old queens (no offence to anybody;)) and some hot guys my age were there.
Will be going definitely going back next week.

So that was useless and might be of no interest to anybody else but I thought I could contribute to the useless topics around here;)

    Good night.

Congrast lamme! The important thing is that it was a milestone to you. I'm glad you had fun. I remember the first time a guy tried to invite me to a gay bar and I refused to go in. I was still in the process of coming to terms with my being gay and it was a big enough step for me just to meet at Boystown. Now years later it's no big deal obviously. But I know how big of a deal it was for you and it's good you took that step.

And I should probably say it before anyone does, it didn't happen if there aren't any pictures. icon_twisted.gif

Good for you. I'm sure you'll remember the experience for a long time. Glad you had fun!

BTW, the first time I went to a gay club, I was really nervous about using the men's room. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, that someone would try to take advantage of me or something while I was in there! icon_lol.gif

Good job. I know how you felt. My first time was in late 09. I was so worried that someone I knew would be in there that knew me and the friends I talked to plus I'm not a club person. But I relaxed and was in a don't care mode and It was a pretty interesting experience. I'm glad you had fun

    I like this topic icon_smile.gif
When i first went, it was a bar in Toronto called Woody's. Went with a random friend who basically abandoned me to go talk to some other guy. At 18 I was cornered by this older dude, at least my dad's age at the time. He I was being polite and answered his questions.
"Where do you go to School?" "What are you taking?" "How are you enjoying your night"
I kept looking around and behind him for my friend. I was so nervous. He then said something like, "Where are you looking baby? I'm over here?"
I don't know what came over me suddenly but I wasn't nervous and told him, "I'm not your baby- and I'm looking for my friend. And I found him."

Without looking I headed off to a random direction that had a large concentration of guys. Another guy approached me and I was thinking, "WTF I wanna go home!"

That guy turned out to be one of my best friends of all time :-)
I love him as a brother and he helped me understand myself.

congrats to you lamme. I am really glad that you had a good time. My first time, I went by myself and was so nervous. After I was there for a bit, a guy that i knew from shopping in my store came up to me and started chatting. I calmed down and things were great after that. He became my best friend. I am not big into bars and clubs, but sometimes you just have to be around others like yourself and it seems like I always end up having a good time.

Congrats lamme, you made one very big step forward.

I don't understand why everybody is so afraid of running into someone they know. First time I went into a gay bar I ran into someone I knew from work. He immediately came over and tried to make me comfortable, which I needed badly. Turned out he was also there for a safer-sex workshop and so we went together.

He mentored me for a couple of weeks after that evening, meaning he answered all my questions, took me out with his friends to bars and my first 'gay party', we went to see movies and yes, I spent a couple of nights with him icon_biggrin.gif

Hey, glad you had a great time! I vaguely remember my first time in a gay bar, which was about 19 years ago. It was a little scary because I didn't know anyone, but it's a huge step forward for any gay man!

My first time was two years ago. Be careful about getting wasted, particularly if you're going alone. That happened to me when I went and I lost my discretion icon_redface.gif

Celebrities Nightclub in Vancouver BC - the drinking age was 19, and I lived in a very small town in NW Washington State. It was great to be surrounded by friendly Canadian gay men and women. I think the relief that there was a very gay-positive place to escape to made it feel more welcoming in general.

I didn't hook up or really flirt with anyone either, though, because I was equally freaked out. I didn't even know how flirting was DONE by gay men. I had to observe for a while, and a friend from college actually taught me how to "cruise"!

It's nice to know that going to your first gay club is still a positive experience on the whole.

    Wunderbar! Ausgezeichnet! Alles Gut!

Congratulations. I remember what a big step that was for me. In a few weeks or months you'll wonder what you were worried about, but give yourself credit. You conquered a fear.

In what city or town was the club?

I've always loved this song. I don't know why it doesn't get more attention. The video was banned in the UK and I think I only saw it a couple of times here in the states. Of course, Mercury was not out at this point. Many of his bandmates said they never talked about his sexuality with him. He didn't come out publicly until he was on his deathbed. But, like Elton John, there'd long been suspicions. When I saw this video as a kid, it pretty much clinched it for me!

We have one gay club and a few other clubs have "gay nights" from time to time as far as I´ve heard. After finishing University a month ago I am living back at my parents till I´ve found a job. Hopefully very soon and in Frankfurt. The choice of gay clubs should be infinitely better;)
