It's opening on July 2nd. I loved the original cartoon series and am excited about the movie, although a little worried how it's going to turn out under M. Night's guiding hand.

I was reading an interview and he said that he was thinking of cutting Momo out of the movie because he didn't serve any purpose. Luckily, his kids convinced him Momo had to stay.

I really hope M. Night keeps as true (well, as can be, anyways) with the OAS.

There's really not that much wiggle room, and in all honesty, you can't really take much out without screwing up the series. Everything is interconnected (surprise, surprise) and it would be a shame if something was omitted, either through necessity or accidentally.

I can't wait to see me some Earthbending!!!

    ...dear god. I'm such a neek. icon_eek.gif

    Def going to see it!

Judging from the previews looks like the first season of the cartoon combined into one movie.

I like M Night's movies so looking forward to it. I hope it is dark and a bit more adult kind (not in terms of nudity and sex) but the execution, it will be much better to watch.

Is it me or is there a disturbing distinct lack of oriental people in this movie? I mean, come on...

I concur. I loved the series, but expect that shyalaman didn't really get it. he will try to add a stupid !SUPRISE! plot twist, and leave out the important subplots.

how can you cram about 13 hours of cartoon into an hour and a half?

it will undoubtedly suck. i hope i am wrong though.

I love the series. The comedy was good, plots were well thought out, and it was fun watching the water benders and going "OMG I know that move!" Which is why I'm worried that if I watch the movie it'll fail to live up to the show and ruin it for me.

How can you say give it a shot when NONE of the characters in the movies are Chinese. I think I read an article on it where the chinese writer said that the movie was basically and I quote *yellowfaced* as she put it. Yellowface for those that don't know giving caucasian people roles that are so obviously meant for chinese people.

That's why I haven't went to see Prince of Persia. You mean to tell me there are no guys from that part of the world in the United States that could play that role? JAKE is YUMMY in the movie from what I've seen of the trailer I'm jus saying.

I mean could we imagine anyone in the roles of Scarlett and Rhett in Gone With The Wind except for Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable I think not.

If they can send out a casting call in Hollywood in 1936 for Gone With The Wind then surely M. Night and the studios could have did the same for Avatar The Last Airbender. Ebert of Rogers and Ebert also is against this movie because of this fact that they use caucasian instead of Chinese

Avatar was one of my favorite shows on TV (I still wish it was on...icon_razz.gif) so I will definitely go and see it. It looks pretty true to the original series, and I've been excited for a while, so I'm very excited for it!
