I am not a freak for not watching the Super Bowl.

There are many reasons why I am a freak - my nimble finger-like toes, my taste in music, that trick I can do with my tongue, etc. - but not watching the Super Bowl is not one of them.

When someone asks me who I am rooting for and I say I don't watch it, they look at me like I just dropped my pants and took a crap right there on the floor. I never watch football on TV, I'm not going to sit through a 6 hour play-off game to watch some commercials.

    Oh godicon_eek.gif
    Thank you...you are not alone!
"Pro football" just never really did anything for me. Now if it was "strip football" a pack of wild horses and a power outage wouldn't stop me from watching!Especially if Tom Brady was "dropping trou"!
I will most likely either be at the gym or out at the grocery store, maybe doing some laundry and surfing the web....Weather channel, sci-fi channel, history channel, cartoon network, but not "the super bowl".icon_cool.gif

The Philadelphia Eagles didn't make the playoffs, so I was done with this football season almost two months ago.

    It's fucking entertainment. FOOTBALL.

I'll watch it out of one eye, for background noise.

I can't even tell you who is playing in the game.

I prefer to play, rather than watch, when it comes to sports, because I am.........a Real Jock.

Sports is like sex. Watching other people do it isn't as much fun as doing it yourself.

The only time I've ever watched the superbowl was for the commercials, and even then I couldn't watch the whole thing. They kept interrupting the commercials with guys throwing this ball around. icon_biggrin.gif

Speaking of commercials, Under Armor is debuting their new footwear program during the game. I should tivo it, just for that.

Rather than being sedentary and watching some stupid boring football game, I choose -- like I do on every Super Bowl day -- to go running. . . lift weights. . . do chin-ups. . . and run errands, like grocery store, gas station, etc. . . and maybe take in a movie or watch a DVD.

I couldn't care less about the super bowl so I'm with you.

In response to sporty g comment about about going to the gym or the grocery store, I'm a manager for a Super Market and I volunteered to close the store tonight because its one of the slowest nights of the year so its a good idea! I would suggest it for everyone who hates shopping in crowds.

I don't watch most sports games. I'd rather be playing than have another excuse to sit on the couch for hours.

I'm hitting the gym today - but I made sure I knew the names of the two teams playing - in case anybody asks me who I want to win!

Come ON guys! At least I know that TODAY is the date of the damn game!

Funny you should bring this up...

there is this amazing guy at the gym that I have been dying to talk to. We find ourselves in the showers together quite often, but never exchanged anything then a simple nod of "hi". Today I'm getting dressed after being in the shower with him again and I see him walk right up to me. His locker is right next to mine so as I'm sitting there trying to think of something to say he says to me, "So who do you think is gonna wing today?" SHIT!!! I don't watch football and didn't even know who was playin. I covered it pretty good. I simply replied, "I'm not sure. I'm not a fan of either team. Who you rootin' for?"

    Clever, huh?

Although I was invited to a super bowl party (which I think would be a fascinating cultural study), I'm going to stay home and help my son do some research in preparation for buying his first car. We don't watch television in my house, so we'll be totally oblivious to the sports news of the day.

I'm sitting at Starbucks and at least three people have asked me what team I'm for. I was spaced out, as usual, the first time someone asked and I said: "I keep going back and forth between Obama and Hillary."

My life begins when football season does and ends after the SUPERBOWL!!!!

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I have never been a football fan and the only reason I know a little about it is because I work with a group of guys that just talks football and HBO's "The Wire". I would watch "The Wire", but the content is a little to much for me at times.

I'll watch the "Puppy Bowl" on Animal Planet. They are SOOOO CUTE!!!

I like all kinds of sports, including football... but a bowl with the Pats and the Giants doesn't mean much to me.... if there had been some sort of miracle and the Chiefs were playing.. that would be different... but I'm in my office working.. I'll be there or at the gym. My response will be.. Who cares?
