PRESIDENT Barack Obama has pledged unwavering commitment to forging significant progress in the Middle East this year. Despite the furore whipped up by Israel's raid on Gaza aide ship.

Welcoming Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to the White House. Mr Obama promised the "full weight" of US diplomacy on the latest visit crisis and vowed to coax Israelis and Palestinians out of a "dead end" and into direct talks.

He also unveiled $482.3 million to US aid for Gaza and the West Bank for housing, education and infrastructure.

Mr Obama called the humanitarian situation "unsustainable" and warned a Palestinian state was the only long term solution.

Yeahh … shouldn’t he focus more on some American problems rather than the middle eastern conflict it won’t go anywhere if he returned after 40 years it will still be there so he should take a break focus on solving the US problems and after that return back to the middle east to have the summary .. which will defiantly be … nothing happened. ,

Ohh they are waiting for the Jewish messiah I believe … but I don’t think there is a big time difference between the both...What I mean when it happens ... believe me everybody will know and I don’t think Obama have to worry about it .... he needs to relax alittle bit and start solving the US problems.

    A) The Palestinians already have a state.
    It's called Gaza.
    B) As long as every generation of Palestinians teaches the next generation that their only goal in life is the destruction of Israel, there will be no peace in the Middle East.
    C) As long as the Jewish lobby is the second biggest U.S. Congressional lobby, billions of dollars will continue to flow into Israel.
    D) As long as a terrorist organization represents the Palestinian government, there is no chance for peace in the Middle East.

President Obama and Secretary Clinton talk because they are expected to comment. There will be no change in the situation in the MIddle East.
