Those annoying Love Handles!

Ok guys, these annoying love handles are driving me nuts. The fat is especially concentrated towards the back of the love handles. I've done side bends, side crunches, and have recently tried to work my lower back for more core balance. I also run 3 miles twice a week. The most problematic area of my body is my abs/lovehandles.

I'm beginning to think that bad genetics is the cause of my love handles. How did you get rid of your love handles, or how do you work them out?

Side bends work the quadratus lumborum muscle and can actually make love handles more pronounced. Check your diet.

And I have the same challenge. The only difference is I'm adjusting my diet instead of my workout. The workout is just to get my muscles a little bigger so the skin doesn't sag, and to do my job without getting so winded (lots of heavy lifting and pushing and pulling and manual labor stuff). The diet is what will finish off the eventual 6-pack.

The visible progress is slow, but the numbers are showing favorable results.

Focus on overall core strength and add in another session or two of cardio...maybe some HIIT? I know that I can be running 40 miles a week, but if my diet isn't clean I'll carry fat....just the way my body works.

And what love handles are you talking about...I don't see an oz of extra body fat in your photos.

    Psst .......................

You should Know this by now

    You cannot spot reduce

So do all the side bends and ab work you want
Until you lose some of the extra weight you have .... the handles are here to stay

I have that same mental issue but viveutvivas said it best...

this is the only way to reduce that down.

Your body is fine, at least you work hard on it. I say keep it up bro, you look good!

Love handles are the new abs. Seriously, I read it in Men's Health.

True. If you don't want to go that extreme then it is getting your body fat level low enought to minimize the love handles as much as possible. Also, building up the lats and delts can go a long way towards making the love handles less noticible.
