Losing up to 5 pounds quickly & safely?

    Anybody have tips on losing 5 pounds quickly, but in a healthy way?

    I'm about 5 away from my goal. I've been doing hellah hard cardio and lifting 4 times a week. I have about 8 days to do this. I guess I need to know how much or often and how many calories to eat.

    I'm 5'10" and 165#. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Completely cut out carbs, fat and sodium and eat only 5 meals a day, all protein. Also, drink about a gallon of water daily. That ought to do it.

    Um, arbitrary mass?
    Losing 5lbs of water weight is trivial.
    I lose that multiple time per week after even a short (~2hrs) training session.
    You can look up threads on "cutting weight" if this is for an event/bet/etc (probably not on this site).
    The above won't make you any healthier though.

    As for longer term weight loss: couldn't say how to do it especially quickly.

    Try a two part cleanse since you have several days. Wake up every morning and have the first thing you ingest be a drink such as Green Machine. Then throughout the day BEFORE each meal on an empty stomach drink hot water with lemon or other citrus juice. This will make the peristalsis reaction in your small intestine. You won't believe how great you will feel in addition to how much (literally) crap will be cleaned out of your system.

    I do this when I want to trim my mid-section before I have photos done.

    Don't believe everything you "hear."
    I KNOW lots of models who take diuretics and laxatives to prepare for some shoots.

    If it's only temporary, cut salt out of your diet as that causes water retention.

    eat nothing but fruit on sunday will drop at least 5 or more of water weight which actually hides your muscles as much as fat. you will be surprised how much better you can look. plus it helps to increase your t hormones to the lack of protien the body releases more hormones to compensate(who knew)

    eat an omelette or fried eggs every morning with whole wheat toast or rye bread (will make you full longer), have a salad with protein in the afternoon (will keep you feeling not hungry), cellery sticks with peanut butter at night to stave off hunger. if you need to cheat during the day, a bowl of non sugary cereal will do. works for me for a short term solution.

    Why do you need to do this in 8 days? Was it a deal with Rumpelstiltskin and he gets to eat you if you are not at the target weight?

    Lose them slowly and lose them permanently. If you try the fast loss you will gain them back and a few more for your trouble.

    Thanks for the help guys. And it's only for a benefit I'm doing. I'll get my goal weight by the end of the summer.

    I am REALLY close. Doing 1.5 hours of cardio all 8 days plus 4 days of weight training. I'm not going to throw up or anything, so don't worry. We all gotta cheat sometimes.

    I'm doing 1 protein shake for breakfast.
    400 cal lunch with lean protein and greens.
    1 shake for dinner.

    Extreme but let's be real. Looking good for even one night makes a boy happy. I'm happy to return to my adult weight later.

    No pills for me. All diet.

    Do tabata instead of the hours of cardio. But do it hard 3 times a week.

    I feel like I just gave a kid a loaded shot gun, but if you have been doing what you say then you have the base. It hurts like hell, but you will see results fast.
