i have an older car ('66 chevy corvair) with a perfect interior, no rips, tears or sun damage/fade out; desire to protect this very nice vinyl interior from the damaging, intense sun rays as much as possible.

would the lightest tint available be enough to block the vinyl ripping/bleashing uv sun rays?

or should i go as dark as legally available?

I once asked this question.. and about the safety of "tinting"... my black vehicles I've owned usually have them. I do like tinting.

I was told that you need to discuss with a qualified auto glass tech to get the answer, depends on the tint...... not really sure why one would be any less "safe" than another.
