You ever get frustrated or irritated when you ask for some good advice on fitness and the person who gives you their ideas acts or says they know exactly what theyre talking about and yet, they dont look like they follow their own advice?? Even MORESO when someone tells you, that you aren't doing anything right and yet youre in better shape then them??

    How annoying

Sometimes if you ask about that person's background, they've already been in better shape and circumstances happened that caused them to get out of shape. It doesn't always mean they don't know what they're talking about.

But I do understand the sentiment. And sometimes, you're right. My peeve is when very overweight people tell me I'm too skinny. I generally tell them they're just blinded by their own fat.

Also genetics must be taken into account. Some evil people have genes which mean that by getting out of bed and walking to the fridge they develop a sixpack, and they get huge arms and pecs from opening the fridge door. Because they didn´t have to work for their body they don´t know how to help others.

My physical therapist knows exactly what he's talking about, even though he's not in the best of shape. He's a huge guy and used to play football and has admitted he has a sweet tooth. However, I trust his advice and have tested it out. He knows a lot about the body and about fitness.

Some people will give great advice and some will give you crap advice. I generally don't ask for advice from people unless I know they have the education or experience to give me good advice. I recently asked a new employee at the gym for some suggestions on my arm workout and he gave me two new exercises I hadn't tried before.....and boy did they work!

Plus some people have genetics that work the other way. I can walk past the fridge and look like I just drank a six pack.

And this person happens to be my step-dad... he's currently out of shape, but he can pack on muscles swiftly and easily... works out two times a week, form is terrible, he barely breaks a sweat, yet he grows... FAST, and soo cocky about it...
There is one aspect I can tease him about - he's so inflexible he can't even reach his hands behind his back, but I would never tease him about that... icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh this is an issue for me. Muscle mass looks horrible if you have no flexiblity... I like to call it the "silver-back-gorilla" look. yeah you may be big and bulky, but you can't even ......
A big part of all this is genetics too. I have a manual labor job and do twice the aerobics as my boyfriend, he has a office job and does very little aerobics. he is way more cut than I am... I have asked for advice from guys how have these incredible six-packs. Everytime I cut the fat and increase the aerobics I just loose more weight. The muscle weight just starts wasting away. What works for someone doesn't always work for everyone else.

Thats ANOTHER part!! Haha, when they give you advice and tell you as if its SUPPOSED TO BE that obvious, and that your dumb for not knowing. OR when the advice is all wrong or doesnt fit your body type and they basically place the blame on you for your fitness issues.
