With PlayStation and Microsoft-XBOX teams unavailing the next generation of gaming software what do you think you are going to be buying Microsoft's XBOX 360 Kinect or Sony's PlayStation Move.

After watching some of the coverage I might have to make the move to XBOX360. Granted I am not a huge gamer, but the possibilities sound better with XBOX's Kinect than with PlayStation's Move technology.

XBOX Kinect with older XBOX 360, the new one now has WIFI included along with a bigger hard drive.Kinect doesn't require any controller for Kinect enabled games and even has voice control

I'm not big on gaming either, but the XBOX Kinect looks a whole lot better than the Playstation Move, and if I were to buy one, I'd probably go with the Kinect.

Actually this is what the new Xbox looks like

the PS3 Move looks so awkward. They're trying to hard to copy Nintendo and its not working.

    I guess I will give the 360 a try.

I have been with Sony since Final Fantasy 8. The Playstation was always great. Now, I have a complete entertainment system with my Playstation 2 and its software exploids. I am still waiting for the 360 and PS3 to get as hackable as the old systems. The PS3 makes it fairly easy, dont know about the 360 though.

So far, in the case Kinect, Wii and Move... Wii was the innovation and Kinect just as Move is the intend to evolve this innovation. For me the first performances are really funny. Kinect makes a good point in just interpreting the user himself and his movements. That is very admirable, but we will have to see how good it works implemented in a Blockbustergame. Microsoft has a history of buggy stuff, so I am excited but keep calm till further "beta" testing. Also Voice commands sounds cool, but the Vista version was really bad.

Move picks up to much on the Eyetoy software and tries to much to get the same apeal as the Wii with his remote. I am very sorry to see that Sony doesnt have much innovations in his sleeve lately. Still it has the potential to work way better in real games since it has a clear point to focus on in a 3 Dimensonal space.

    P.S:

You are a ignorant, simple as that. Nintendo did a great leap, but this leap needs to get advanced. Move and Kinect are a great new way to explore Camera-Human interface. This Technology is still in his baby phase(hence the videogames), but soon you could control your TV, DVD or even Computer completly by gestures and speach.

I'm kind over the whole motion gaming thing. The Wii is fun. But I'm a little old school and would rather just lay on the couch and use a standard controller.

Exactly. If they want to work on kinesthetic movements for camera interface technologies, let them, but leave the games alone. I played zelda quite fine with a gamecube remote., and wouldn't mind if they kept it that way.

no Im not an ignorant, Im perfectly aware the new features it has...with that being said, the new features dont really impress me much...in fact i find quite annoying that one would have to constantly move around. I stick with my remote control to watch tv & movies thank you very much

Eh...from what I've seen it seems like the Move is much more accurate.

Have you seen the trailer for Sorcery?!

The items that XBOX 360 has compared to PS3's move is the fact that XBOX 360 has voice control and they have just signed a deal with ESPN to allow you to view almost any of their sporting events except the NFL, I am sure there are a few more exclusions I don't know about.

The game choices for the XBOX Kinect don't look that great yet, I agree. But I like the idea of not having to hold anything while trying to do a motion control game.

Meh. Kinect has noticeable lag and no tactile feed back. Move is a direct rip off of the Wii Remote, more so than the Six Axis was.

As far as I'm concerned Microsoft and especially Sony can shove it. They spent so much time slamming motion control, and now they do this? Pathetic.

Also, Microsoft, how bout making launch games that aren't Wii Sports and Exotic Nintendogs, hm?

I'm excited to see motion tracking moving forward, but at least try to be fucking original. I'm not even going to get started on the added cost over Wii to get started on the HD Twins.

And to the poster that was talking about 'omg teh kiddiez' games... have you even played the Wii? Mario Galaxy? Red Steel 2? Twilight Princess? Wii Sports? Tiger Woods 11? Metroid Prime? Silent Hill? Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom? From the sound of your post you haven't, or you just don't understand game design.

There has to be at least one person that says...

For all this... Why not just buy a Wii? lol

One day... Nintendo will realize that gamers want quality games, innovative technology AND high-end graphics and sound.

At what point do they realize we want online multiplayer too?icon_sad.gif

Also, I get tired of gimmicky games...and the fact that they release a new handheld EVERY YEAR, they have been doing this since gameboy color...then gameboy pocket...then gameboy pocket color...then gameboy DX....then the Advance etc etc etc

Nintendo has been and will always be a kiddy console- so graphics aren't a big deal. They (we) care more about gameplay! I'm just tired of seeing all those FPS... Taiko no Tatsujin FTW!!!!!!!!!
Ironically... FPS wont work as well with the Playstation Move controller as they do with the Wii's- icon_confused.gif
Playstation Move games will also more mature.

Kinetic seems to be geared towards mothers though........... yoga..... so you think you can dance...... icon_rolleyes.gif

Ackhem, I'll attempt to not take offense to that first statement. I'm a big Nintendo fanboy. I was highly disappointed when I saw the only quality options for the Wii were 480p and 480i... when we can do 1080p on the widescreen x_x.

Nintendo isn't about "kiddys". Nintendo is about reaching a broad range of gamers and non-gamers -- not only the 18-35 year old male serious gamer. I honestly don't play games like I used to, but I know Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, as well as Zelda: Twilight Princess, has held it's own in the eyes of the serious gaming world. Again just... Nintendo -- work on getting graphics and sound that is really an all over experience.

However, I would give PS3 a run... just to play in the "Heavy Rain" or drive like a "Blur"

Xbox I can and will continue to live without.

    Wrong.

1 - NES best graphics compared to the competition and better game selection. First console using a digital cross on their controllers.

2 - SUPER NES best graphics and better game selection again.

3 - NINTENDO 64 best graphics new controller including joystick. Sony releases PS1(half the graphics of the 64) and later on tried to add a couple of joysticks to their controller as well. Sega eventually releases Dreamcast leaving both Sony and Nintendo far behind.

4 - GAMECUBE graphics slightly better than PS2 and pretty close to Microsoft's XBOX. Sega retires. Not very good game selection for Nintendo except classics like Mario and Zelda.

5 - FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER NINTENDO Forgets about graphics and focuses all it's effort on game play. Nintendo is currently selling their console in a market over saturated with Wiis and DSs. They have been making a profit since they sold their FIRST Wii while Playstation 3 was losing over $100 per unit sold until 3 years later they finally saw their first profit. Nintendo's best seller games which are usually on top charts, ARE NOT third party games like Sony's. Nintendo is right now the most successful video game company in existance and they have the money to release something new this year or the next one leaving once again their competition playing catching up.

that's all I have to say

Neither. Ha ha. It's funny I was just talking to my friend about this as I saw this post. I have my Wii and I have my PS3 for Blu-Ray and amazing graphics. Unless there are some really amazing games for the PS3 move I'm not gonna shell out more money for an accessory that my Will already does.

Oh you have to play some bowling with me and some friends on PS HOME, its fun as hell lol.

We have a Wii, but my guy's girl plays that mostly, or we'll all be on it if we're having a party. There's like only 3 games on the Wii I'd like to play. Metroid other M, Zelda, and The Last Story. The Wii in general just doesn't do it for me.

360 is awesome, we have one at the house my bro and my friend's dad are usually on it, Splinter Cell Conviction was awesome, so is Gears of War, and I can't wait to play 3. PS3 is played the most though, and now I'm dying to play that game Sorcery with the PSM icon_smile.gif

I got all that lol. Trust me, I know all your points. I'm just sayin -- usually something has to give.

In terms of sound. For it's time in the 1980s and 1990s, the highest quality of sound you were going to get off the NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. was chiptunes and other synthesized workarounds. They weren't able to incorporate or replicate full length scores of music (Super Smash Brothers Brawl's Fire Emblem Orchestral Theme comes to mind) until the CD based games came out.

So Nintendo had gaming, innovation and visual... but every console released in that era (by SEGA, Nintendo, etc.) sucked in the sound department, lol. Now Nintendo gives us gaming, innovation, and sound (Good job Super Mario Galaxy) .... but sucks in the visual department... given the hardware we all know every company has.

The Holy Grail of Gaming: Quality Games, Innovation, HQ Audio and HQ Visual.

    Get on it Nintendo.

And I'm still waiting for someone to take me on a date in the "Heavy Rain" lol.

A new advertisement for the XBOX 360 and some pricing news on the new XBOX Kinect

    Video:

Pricing: There have been a few reports on the price of the Kinect. For the Kinect itself it has been priced at $150. For a packaged deal of XBOX 360 and Kinect around $199, which sounds a little too cheap.

So the Kinect is like 3x as much as the move?! Microsoft has a really bad habit of overcharging for just about everything...I remember being angry that you had to pay for DLC on the 360 that was free on PC and even the Ps3 at times.

im not to sure what to get here they are both gonna be big sellers either way!! but i heard alot of chatter about the wii being the first with all this moving stuff...i guess you guys must be to young to remember the dreamcast. the dreamcast was way way ahead of its time and still has better graphics and games then alot of the systems out there now a days. and it was the first to start using your own movement to control the game. granted they werent as good as the stuff out now but still if your gonna say that wii started it all would be wrong. and playstation 2 also before the wii, had the use of a camera to move and play games.
