ZELDA wrote one of the only poems that I love:

    EVERY MAN HAS A NAME

    Every man has a name
    given by God
    and given by our parents

    Every man has a name
given by our stature and our smile
and given by what we wear

    Every man has a name
    given by the mountains
    and given by our walls

    Every man has a name
    given by the stars
    and given by our neighbors

    Every man has a name
    given by our sins
    and given by our longing

    Every man has a name
    given by our enemies
    and given by our love

    Every man has a name
    given by our celebrations
    and given by our work

    Every man has a name
    given by the seasons
    and given by our blindness

    Every man has a name
    given by the sea
    and given by
    our death.

I am a HUGE fan of this series, but I have to say this trailer doesn't really have me excited. I was really hoping to see them take some creative risks with the formula they use for the games. It looks like more of the same, with some upgrades and 1 to 1 sword swinging. The change in graphic style is interesting, for sure, but it's not enough to keep changing the way it looks and keeping most of the gameplay mechanics the same.

But I know it will still be an enjoyable game since I've never played a bad Zelda game. I hope Link comes out of the dark ages finally and speaks. And from the look of things, we might even get to see Link fly??

To be honest it looks like a kid's game graphically, a la Wind Waker. Unfortunately, I feel as though we will see game difficulty lowered for that age level as well. I'm not particularly thrilled to see the colored, almost cell-shaded appearance in this game, as I thought this look would stick more to the handheld DS console. What would really have made me happy would have been to see a more realistic zelda... Maybe something touching on Assassin's creed style-wise and gameplay-wise. Or developing a Zelda focused around one of the wars mentioned in previous games would be awesome... But perhaps I'm wishing this for the wrong console/ game developer.

In any case, I'm definitely excited to see this! I can't wait to see what storyline they concoct for this one... Will it tie in to others? Will Ganon be prominent in this one? Does the cell-shading indicate a more-than apparent closeness in storyline to Wind Waker? Great Flood.. perhaps?

    We'll see!!

check this one out from last E3 conference too.. icon_smile.gif

so stoked for this and the 3DS! I like the art style of this one I think its a happy mix of the technicolor of wind waker and the more realistic twilight princess.

Haha.. I'm on the fence about it. Keep in mind though, that a LOT fo changes occurred from the E3 version of TP to its release version. I dunno if they'd do any kind of overhaul on graphics after having released this, but time will tell.

I've gotta say I agree with SpaceDude. I love Zelda but the Wii games look like crap on my new HD TV. I'm ready for the Wii HD Nintendo. I'm sure this will be fun and I've been a die-hard Nintendo fan all my life but they're starting to annoy me with these non-HD graphics.

P.S. Metroid: Other M looks amazing. Wish Zelda looked more cool like that.

I played the demo. It uses the same engine as Twilight Princess. Nothing to write home about, unless you liked Twilight Princess. I wasn't a fan of TP, and I walked away from this one just as underwhelmed.

I just beat twilight princess for the gamecube, and it was okay, but this new one looks like more of the same. Wind waker was the last truly great Zelda imo. Links awakening for gameboy is my all time favorite. I still have my dreamcast too haha. Shenmue was soooo ahead of its time

Love Zelda - but mainly for the great environmental puzzles at this point. I think the franchise is getting a bit too formulaic - so I hope they spice things up a bit. May two favorites are Majora's Mask (love the dark mood of the game/music) and WindWaker - which I think, by far(!) had the best art-direction. I thought it looked stunning.

I really wish they'd take some more artistic chances. Twilight Princess was cool, but I liked it best when in the Shadow Realm/mode, because the effect/mood was unique and felt like nothing else in the other games. Very trippy...

I want a game where we get to play as Zelda - or both(!). C'mon Nintendo... take some really chances!

Yeah, Shenmue was probably the greatest game ever made for that system. Wasn't there a Shenmue 2? Never played it, I should get it on ebay and dust off the old system... and yeah, Link's Awakening was great, I think it even made me cry!
