The most common respond is "me too" .. did you say something different?

The first time my ex said "I love you" to me on the phone I said ,after smiling shyly:"now we're talking!"

    What was yours?

I've been in love with the idea of loving someone many times. However, love for me was a very clear moment in time. It also happened to be at the exact moment my partner felt the same feeling.

Though we were a hundred yards away, we both looked at eachother and knew that we were in love. No fire works or big bang. Just a sense of peace.

I usually say, "I love you more" now.

The most memorable response I gave to that statement was "harder!" Because unfortunately, he had chosen a moment where I was unable to produce coherent sentences to express his feelings.

The first guy who said I love you to me, I arched an eyebrow and stammered, OK. I broke up with him the next day.

The second guy who said it...I said bluntly, I can't say the same. That last 2 more months before I ended it with him.

The third guy to say it, I felt it too and reciprocated with a big sloppy kiss. Then we fucked.

My partner is a bit reserved at times...

We had been going out for several months. We were vacationing in Naxos.

One morning I was sitting on the side of the bed getting dressed, he reached over and finally said 'I love you' for the first time - about 4 mos after I had first said it to him.

My response: "Well, Duhhh." Then I hit him with the pillow. icon_lol.gif

My boyfriends didn't say it that much, so I can't rightly say what I thought when they did.

    Per Phone Conversation:

    Him: "I love you"
    Me: *silence*
    Him: "Are you there?"
    Me: "Hello? Are you there?"
    Him: "Yes, I'm here!"
Me: "Hello? Hello? Well I don't know if you can hear me, but I guess you lost me. Well, I guess I'm going to bed. Call me tomorrow."

Obviously I WAS NOT ready for that. Call me mean or whatever, it worked.

My bf told me he loved me and I just looked at him and told him I was not going to tell him that back until I knew for sure. He understood but later told me he knew I loved him, I didnt have to say it.

Ive learned to not use that word to freely and say it when you mean it.
