I've seen guys wearing jocks in mens saunas and steam rooms, which I thought was silly, and probably not good for their balls in that heat. In fact, some health clubs I've used prohibit wearing any clothing at all in the mens sauna or steam room. If you're shy wrap a towel around you, like Adam & Andy in this comic strip, otherwise just sit on a towel naked.
BTW, I simply enlarged the comic strip image, and though the resolution isn't great, I could still read it. -

Of course they took me seriously, and didn't realize I had just misspoke. What a GREAT first impression that was. -
