Elton was right. Building bridges is more effective than walls. I think he had a lot to do with this.

oh my god is Eminems left eye trying to escape his face too!?!? He looks like Shannon Doherty now. I swear everyone who does drugs ends up getting a lop-sided asymmetrical face by the time they hit 35.

    From the article:
Eminem replied, “I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.”

Although that's a crack that's been said many times over, and probably with a lot less tongue-in-cheek, at least he's supporting our right to be equal. icon_lol.gif

Yeah... That one is getting a bit old, but it's nice people like him can come around.

Cyndi Lauper supports marriage equality. At best Marshal Matthers is indifferent to gay marriage. His comment, "what the hell," hardly sounds like support.

Yeah that's true, but that's also kinda his style, isn't it? Besides, "what the hell" goes nicely with the rather flip comment about our right to be miserable like the rest of the world.

From what I read, it doesn't sound like he supports it, but rather apathetic towards it and doesn't care.

You can take it as support, but I take it as how a huge chunk of straight Americans react toward same-sex marriage.

No doubt and I'd be willing to cut M some slack if he showed his support in some tangible way. Perhaps he'll cut a vid for www.wegiveadamn.com. Jason Mraz did.

"What the hell" sounds like 100% support to me!! What do you want him to do, shout it from the rooftops? icon_wink.gif

Or he supports gay people going out to buy his tired and repetitive music. Yep, I think so.

Well, either way, he isn't bashing it.. so it could be worse right?
I'll take so-called "apathy" over being against it any day...

He has a new cd to sell.
He didn't say this six months ago.
It gets his name in the press. Who knows anyway what his real persona is. He wouldn't have sold as many albums if the covers had him sitting in a field of daisies holding kittens. Blah blah blah. He has spewed so much hate over the years in his "music" who cares what he says now.

You know... I wasn't even going to bother with this thread... but then I was like, "what the hell. I have nothing better to do."

Ok, what he said was not a ringing endorsement of gay marriage, but its better than God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve to placate the homophobes that buy his music too! I think that Elton has opened his eyes a little bit. One can only hope!

He is good at keeping himself in the public eye and creating stories for people to write about. Either way who cares, he is lame.

Or people genuinely like his new album Recovery which by the way, I do. Even if this is a gimmick, he hired the Slap Chop guy to do a commercial to sell the album. He can do whatever the hell he wants and it will sell. Even throwing another sentence with Elton in it on the album. Recovery is hot. Believe it and I hate rap music.

He's got Rihanna singing on a song about Domestic Violence.
    Yeah.
No matter what you think of him selling records, the guy's got brains to support it.

it is simple really i am a huge emenim fan and hey people make mistakes. alot of what he did and siad before was the drugs talking i think, so give the guy a break he is triing to make up for all the stupid stuff he said in the past so who r we to judge him for that. the point is that he has come around and now is using his brain not his mouth.
