so one person was one thing and another person was the polar opposite and that led you to conclude something? gee, that would like me saying children of trust fund-giving parents produce children who make sweeping generalizations... i totally know one person like that so it must be true.

You might want to be careful about the sweeping generalizations you make regarding children of psychiatrists.

When did 2 cases become grounds for a mass stereotype?

I especially find this offensive, as my mom is a psychiatrist, and one of the basic things learned about psychology is that anecdotes are usually wrong and don't account for sweeping generalizations or examples. i.e., you're wrong. And btw, I'm not rebellious, or withdrawn, like you put it.

Generalizations... you wouldn't know anything about that would you? No... you're too busy listening to Justin Beiber and other musical artists who are adored by 14 year old girls.icon_lol.gif

Physicians do seem to have higher rates of suicide and depression than the general population. Although the suicide rate among medical specialties is about even, psychiatrists, females especially, do exhibit more depression than others.

So maybe they fuck up their children more.

Nah you just make whiny, annoying attention whoring threads and then piss everyone off by deleting them when they don't go your way. Then disappear for a while and creep back in hoping no one remembers.

Just because I wear my hair like that doesn't mean I'm rebellious, it means I like my hair like that, and my parents happen to like it too. And what's wrong with wearing my baseball cap up like that? I don't like it in my face because when it is I can't see. Is it so wrong for me to see? Think about what you're going to post before you post it, retard.

Oh, thanks, because you know me SO well. Dude, attacking other people just makes you look stupid. This post wasn't even about me, and you're trying to make it about me. That's stupid. If you hate me so much, why would you attack me like that? I find that is stupidity on your part.

And I don't delete them when they don't go my way, I delete them when I get bored with them or when people put start stupid flame wars on them. It's not my fault people like you like attacking people like me.

Maybe because children love to bully them make them like they are unwanted. I believe children of Physicians are smart and caring. They have gifts that most children don't have.

Agreed. They would have a higher chance of having the 'caring' and slightly smarter traits passed down from their parents because their parents would have been caring to have wanted to enter such a field, and would probably be slightly smarter than the average person just to be able to be a doctor.

You're saying their empathy and intellect may get them marginalized?

I've heard the same narrative all my life about preachers' kids.

Actually, that post made him look pretty smart. icon_wink.gif

Whether or not attacking someone makes you look stupid depends on the manner of the attack and if the person receiving it was deserving. On that note, how that person responds in turn can make him or her look stupid as well...

Obviously I can't win. People can attack me and get applauded for it, but the second I try to defend myself, it's called stupidity. I give up. Faggots just have it out for me.

    1. don't use the word "faggot." it makes you seem pathetic as opposed to stupid. PAstud is not a model member to learn from.

    2. you were the one who started a thread about valedictorians, claimed to have an impossible to have GPA and SAT score, and then got upset when non-valedictorians had the audacity to post in that thread.

    3. you started a thread about you having alzheimer's disease and then attacked members when they said things that you didn't find sympathetic enough.

you don't have the best track record on here and by throwing out the word "faggot" you're just digging a bigger hole. i have no idea who you are or how you are as a person in real life, but based off what i have read from you on this site i can clearly see how ciarsolo thinks what he does about you; i've spoken my piece about you several times myself. the point is you kinda shot yourself in the foot... on multiple occasions... and though i don't think you started anything in this thread, it's easy to see that hostility is carrying over from other threads. honestly, you'll probably deal with that for a while, but you'll never fix that by starting new drama.

Yes, every single gay person on the planet is mean and judgmental. You're the guy who has all this disdain for "stupid people," right? What's your excuse for being so irrational? icon_razz.gif

On a more serious note, I probably would not have stepped in if you had done a good job of defending yourself. But instead you gave a glib, sophomoric retort. Ciarsolo was operating on a conversational point, since this is a trolling thread anyway.

Was it mean-spirited of him to remind you of your past? Sure, but actually kind of on-point, considering what you were saying about yourself. That first thread of yours was pretty tragic as far as grabs for attention go, and you haven't shown much sign of improvement in your attitude. So, by all means, defend yourself. Just be smart about it and I won't have anything to say. icon_smile.gif

Obviously I don't belong. It's been made very clear. But it is not by my 'wanting to', as you proclaim, it's because of people like you. And the funny thing is, if I met you tomorrow, out in public, I'd probably be nice to you, just because that's who I am. But you on the other hand would probably start yelling at me and think that I had some malicious reason behind being nice. And no, I am not going to end my lovely endeavor on this site, just because you think I should. I'm not that suggestible, and no, I'm not that stupid. And to whomever made that lovely comment about me overgeneralizing about saying the word 'faggot', I wasn't pertaining to gay people, I was pertaining to ignorant gay people - or atleast the ones who act ignorant in starting flame wars on somebody else's forum post. It's indecent to start them on my posts, but it's just plain rude to start them on other people's.
