Does anyone else see this as a step backward for Honda? This car does not even get 40 MPG on the highway... The new Ford Fiesta seats 3 more people, is a non hybrid, and gets better highway fuel efficiency. I have not read or seen one good review of this vehicle so far. So was anybody else really excited for this car and let down?

Well Honda's fall has been documented on AutoObserver, which has pointed out that the company has fallen out of touch with consumer preferences. Witness the recent flops that are the Accord Crosstour and the Insight, both handily outsold by their Toyota counterparts despite the recall controversy. The Element also never was very successful. It seems Honda has a hard time breaking out of bread-and-butter segments and into niche segments where superior design and engineering actually matter. The S2000 may have been the only exception to that, but it was largely engineered by Honda's motorcycle experts.

All that to say... The CR-Z is unsurprisingly disappointing.

The CRZ is sad. It's a sporty hybrid, not a sports car. Everything from the power output to suspension design.. bleh. Honda is losing touch with its racing heritage.

It would be awesome if Honda brought back the Prelude with AWD and a V6. The Accord coupe is nice, but bland. And the Civic Si is a little gutless. I hope they don't follow Toyota's lead and dump all their fun cars for appliance cars.

Man not even 40MPG... that's crazy

It use to be Honda was know to be a better bet than a Ford. Now with all this talk of the new Fiesta that may soon change. I hate to see the brand I had for my very first and current car is getting upscaled by Ford....of all brands icon_sad.gif

Think I'm going to cry nowicon_cry.gif

My partner just bought a 2011 Honda CR-Z EX and he loves it. It's a fun little car to drive. Considering the really low price, there's a lot of technology in the car. Maybe this is one of those cars that you either love or hate...no middle ground.

We read on autoguide.com that the CR-Z is one of the fastest selling cars right now. They only stay on a dealer's lot for an average of 5 days. I hope Honda will add leather and a moonroof to make it even better.

Funny this is showing up everywhere as a topic.

If you want 50 mpg buy a Prius.

If you want 0-60 in 6 seconds buy a MS3 or Cobalt SS.

I'm waiting on a CR-Z and should be picking it up next week. For the price it may be one of the least common cars on the road. I think of the CR-Z as a Honda version of the Volvo C30. Hopefully it will end up as rare a sighting. I've had enough with driving the same appliance as everyone else.

If you want a real letdown look no further than the 2011 Jetta.
